I am starting to get stressed out, as I feel like time is flying by and I'm not getting anything done! Why can't I be organized like Missy??

I emailed Ajua weddings about performers, but they only deal with you if you have them plan your wedding. Does anyone have suggestions? I was thinking some type of Aztec dancers or something along those lines? I know I can't have fire dancers. Also, I can make up my mind for music for the ceremony and the cocktail hour. I am using Mania for the reception, but I would really like something live for the ceremony and cocktail. I think I want a Mariachi for the cocktail, but I'm not sure they would be appropriate for the ceremony. If I bring someone else in for the ceremony, that means another outside vendor fee. Any help?

is mania the dj? if so how are his prices I want to get a dj for the reception and i dont know the prices waiting for an email for two weeks.

Mannia is the company name...they have a few djs. Most people have used Carlos, but he won't be there for my wedding day. I have heard nothing but good things about them and there are many satisfied brides that have used them. As far as pricing, it depends what you're looking for. I didn't even ask for a quote from Swank (the dj that the Paradisus uses) as there were a few brides who didn't have great things to say about them when they chose not to use their services.

I am using Swank for all the equipment - we're doing the iPod, not a DJ though. I've been working with Luis at Swank and he has been terrific - very responsive and knowledgable. We're doing a photo slideshow and then later using the same screen to play concert DVDs.

Not sure if this is helpful, but back in Febrauary when I initially requested a quote for a DJ for 4 hours, Swank quoted me $1466 total.

are you paying a fee for having your dj come to the hotel? like a photographer? I read a photographer is $3000

I just called Swanky and spoke he's sending me a quote soon, sounds nice. I think i got a quote of 990 which is good but if i have to pay like $300 for him to come into the hotel then i'm paying the same thing. Plus I went through my emails and I asked Perla for Mannia's info and she wrote me we don't work with him anymore so i'm not sure what thats about.

I need help with tipping! A few more questions...

Who needs to be tipped for the reception? Our officiant and our photog are both great friends of ours, so we don't plan on tipping them. Instead we've paid for their trip. I imagine that leaves the bartender and wait staff. How much do we tip them? Anyone else I'm forgettinghuh.gif

Thanks!

Brooke

I used mania for my wedding and i have nothing but great things to say abou them. Both the dj and the mc were great and kept my party going and the crowd entertained the entire night. They played the songs i wanted, when i wanted, right on cue. Can't say enough great things about them. You won't be dissapointed if you go with mannia.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
