Hi all, can i ask you where you are planning to do your honeymoon? My guy and I are thinking it makes sense to stay in Mexico, but we are not sure what hotel to do it at, we thought the el dorado but its like $500 a night and secrets is pretty also, another thought is just staying at the paradisus for the honeymoon, can i know what you guys are doing??

Thanks

Julie

Hey Julie,

We will be staying in Mexico to honeymoon but we will changing resorts to the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso. We wanted some time away from kids at an adults only. We also looked at the Royal Hideaway, the Occidental Grand, and Secrets. From my understanding you can't go wrong with the El Dorado either. Good luck!

Thanks so much, we are a little torn between secrets and el dorado. the prices are nuts $500 a night or so. I feel for that i can go back to ny and fly to europe but we really want to stay in Mexico and make the best of it.

hmm I want the nice honeymoon but feel that I am going to be in MX as is saving on flights.

Ok, Iâ€m having a minor panic attack! Somehow my wedding is in less then 4 months and I still canâ€t decide what to do about photography. I am so indecisive. I saw one that I really liked, but the cost of booking her and flying her out here is a lot. My SIL has a friend who takes pregnancy and baby photos, so we were thinking about her, but sheâ€s never done a wedding before, and I think her style is more of the posed style and I really am looking for someone who does more photojournalism. I came across moments that matter, and thought they looked really good, but they are completely booked. I donâ€t know what to do. Should I fly someone in, so I have them for the week, or do I use someone local, who I would have to pay extra for to have do a TTD. huh.gifhuh.gif This is what I get for being a last minute person and indecisive!

We're flying our photogs in. They are giving us three whole days of coverage and it still cheaper to fly them down and pay them than book a resort photog for the duration we wanted. Plus we wanted to do a TTD. If you fly someone in and they stay at the resort you don't get hit with an external vendor fee if that is going to aide you in your decision.

I know a lot of girls have used photogs from the area though and have been very pleased. Hopefully someone else can chime in help with that!

Hi Everyone,

I just came across this resort this morning and it is absolutely amazing!! I have been struggling trying to find a nice resort that is not too expensive for my guests and is still what I am looking for. I have been going through this thread for a couple hours now (not sure I will ever make it through the entire thing:)) and I want to say thanks for all of the great info! I emailed the resort to request a wedding date so hopefully I should be able to hear from them soon. Any suggestions/recommendations on first steps please let me know. In the meantime I will keep going through this forum. Oh - so I am confused about how to open attachments?? Do you have to be a member for a certain amount of timehuh.gif Or have a number of posts?? Also, if anyone has the costs for the wedding packages in the meantime and can shoot me an email I would really appreciate it. I found it on here a couple times but they were all attachments.

Hopefully I will be having my wedding here!! What a long journey searching for resorts thus far! Thanks ladies

hi Crystal and congrats.

I am getting married in this hotel in July and am so far not bad, I was a Costa Rica Paradisus bride (hotel amazing) but decided on moving to Cancun because it was so much cheaper (flights)

If your looking at a bunch of hotels check out the Karisma el dorado's they are amazing. I wanted to go there but, the Paradisus wouldnt let us get out of our contract from Costa rica, we had to transfer to Paradisus MX.

Good luck with the hotel search.

Ok, so I finally made a decision on a photographer. We are going to fly someone in...crossing my fingers everything turns out ok with the decision. I am super paranoid.

I picked up my dress on Saturday. I originally didn't want a veil (i thought I would spend too much time fussing with it in the wind) but I tried it on with a veil and I felt much more like a bride, so i think i will go with one. I can always take it off it it bugs me. When I ordered it, it was a bit too small, but it fit perfectly on the weekend, so I am glad those painful hours at the gym and with the trainer paid off!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
