Sarah, I'm going to do inserts for the travel stuff. I don't want to bog down the invite with that info. Do you think it needs to be on pretty paper too?

Lauren, 4 days!!!!!!!! OMG! Good luck tomorrow with the travelling...I see sunshine in your future!

SMB...it depends on how formal your invites are. If they are super formal I would make sure they are on formal paper also. I have found some really cute cards at Michaels that could work and they were fairly cheap. Basically just white stock with the beveled edge.

Hope that helps at least a little....

Hi,

I am new to this forum and am trying to decide where my fiance and I want to get married. We are strongly considering the Paradisus (it looks gorgeous), but I was trying to get a bit more information before we decide. I was wondering if anyone knows about group rates at this hotel. Did you all just go through a travel agent or was anyone able to get a group rate quote through the hotel? We are hoping for June 2010 for the wedding. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Katie

Girls...I am SO excited! I just booked my site visit for the beginning of November! If you have anything that you want pictures of just let me know and I'll try to take them while I'm down there!!

Katie..welcome! I went through a travel agent and she has been booking everything for us. I think the three night rate was somewhere around 800 but that was before the swine flu..I haven't had any guest book recently but if I find anything else out I'll let you know.

Lauren, how was your wedding day? Can't wait to see those beautiful pictures! Congrats!

Katie, welcome! I checked rates online and with a travel agent. In the end, we got a slightly better deal with the agent which also included roundtrip shuttle service. The rate we got last year was ~ $300 per night for two people including taxes.

I'm so glad you're going to visit Paradisus, Sarah! You're going to have such a good time. Check out the lobby area for some pictures. It's beautiful and I wish I had taken advantage of it for pics!

So I got fed up trying to make my own invitations and ended up having my FSIL neighbour design them for me. She sent me two samples and I love them! Why didn't I do that from the beginning?? I'll have to take pictures once I get them printed and post.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
