Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Whoa this thread is active again! LaurenandBill - Totally overwhelming in the beginning because there is soo much (or little information) and so many decisions to make.

I will donate some points to you so you can open the attachments posted in the 24 pages of this thread! My suggestion would be to take a few hours, open a bottle of wine, and read through every post in this thread. I think most of your questions re centrepieces, restaurant reservations will be answered - the ladies in this thread are amazing about sharing information.

I used SWANK and he was fabulous - again I think I posted a whole bunch of info in this thread. We sent him our schedule for the day, play list, do not play list, mother son song, father daughter song, first dance etc. and he was wonderful.

Bill and I are thinking of doing the legal part when we get home .

THANKS:)
We are getting legally married a few days before we go. It just works better for us to do it that way. Many brides get married in Mexico and don't have issues. Know that you need to be there 2 or 3 days in advance and have 2 witnesses and do blood test that is $150. Everyone says the process is pretty easy. At Paradisus the legal is $1000 extra.

We did the entire wedding (legal and all) at the Paradisus. We arrived on the Sunday - Monday we met with Perla who took us to the clinic - had the blood drawn, and then signed the paperwork. 30 minutes tops. We got married on the Thursday and left on the Sunday with our legal certificates in hand.

I have had no issues using the certif for name changing purposes here in Toronto. The only glitch was license and health card because they only accept french and english certif - so I had to get it translated (they gave me a translator) and that's that!

We got legally married here before heading to Paradisus. No one knew about it. It was just one less thing we had to worry about while we were down there and it saved us the extra cost for the legal ceremony. Our JP here did it for free. :)

So.. um yeah like a grand in outside vendor fees

** you girls that have had the dancefloor on the beach- worth it?
How was dancing on the terrace for those that didn't do the beach thing? I am having like 28 ppl..

Hello!
I was curious does Perla charge for the Mariachi band per person or per vendorhuh.gif I am nervous about asking her b/c it might put the idea in her head to charge per person. Haha

Thanks

Hello,

Is anybody considering doing Surf & Turf as their meal or had it as their meal and if so has she quoted you any kind of pricehuh.gif I got this in response to my ? about a price but there are multiple price points on the banquet information she gave mehuh.gif?

Dear Crystal,

For the surf & turf you need to add $20USD plus 15% of service to the price that I already give you for the dinner.

Regards,

Perla Cervantes Moreno

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
