I agree. We had 28 people and danced on the terrace barefoot all night. It worked out great.

Oh, good point Robin. I totally forgot that they were replacing the floor while we were there. It looked great.

Back to a question that was asked before... we were charged the outside vendor fee for our photogs. There was no getting around it.

Meredith,

I am also using Carlos, I can see that this is the growing trend, probably because Swank is so ridiculously expensive! I don't know if you've signed any contracts or anything like that, but Swank tried to charge us 25% of the original quoted invoice, which was just an inquiry as to his prices, because we chose to use an outside vendor. There was never a formal agreement between Swank and John and I so we knew this was just a sad attempt to rip us off, but it caused conflict between Swank, Perla, and us and the final agreed price for us to use an outside DJ was 460. Im just letting you know what happened with us incase they try to pull the same &^*! with you!

In terms of the table sizes - we went with the larger tables (which were meant for 10) but had tables with 8, 9 and 10 ppl just depending on couples and who we wanted sitting together.. SHitty that the DJ issue is such a big one - and it's too bad b/c SWANK was wonderful to work with and a great DJ..

Sam - Yikes! Thanks for the heads up - I just emailed SWANK and told him we would not be using the projector/screen, so hopefully he won't charge me for the quote! That is nuts.

Missy - Did you have to request the tables of 10 or do they come standard? Do you have to pay more for the larger tables? If not, then I would probably just to do the bigger tables to save money on the centerpeices. Thanks for the information! :)

Congrats Laurenandbill!!

Hey girls...I sent Daniella a note asking what exactly was included in each of the packages in terms of decoration...to determine if I was just going to customize and all she did was send me a price sheet. <sigh> ..does any body know if chair covers, ceremony gazebo, etc is included in any of the packages? Centerpieces? I'm glad I have awhile to sort this all out!

Meredith - we did have to request the larger tables - Perla said there was two sizes - 8 person and 10 person - we didn't have to pay more for these.

Congrats Laurenandbill - Welcome to the Paradisus Team!

Egsarah - Chair covers are included - the wish package includes 6, fantasy includes I think 20 (or however many ppl are in the package etc.) - Bows are not included in any of the packages.

Centrepieces are not included - you pay for those per table depending on what you what.

Ceremony Gazebo - I believe that the basic gazebo is included in the packages (just the wooden part with some white fabric) but this may have changed since I was there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
