Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Megs123,

I know there are wedding coordinators in the Riviera Maya who set up weddings on beaches all the time. One is Caribbean Blue Weddings(www.caribbeanblueweddings.com)- they can suggest several locations- I know they use a beach in Playacar just past Playa del Carmen. Then they work with several restaurants in Playa del Carmen for receptions too, if you needed that. If you don't mind traveling a little further, Al Cielo is a wonderful private spot with a beautiful beach and gourmet restaurant (weddings@alcielo.com). It's about an hour south of Paradisus, north of the ruins in Tulum by about 20-30 minutes.

Robinhood, Glavas and Kelly ~~~ Im wondering if you are paying the 2008 prices on your wedding packages or you are paying the 2009 prices?

We booked the wish package when we confirmed our wedding back in June of this year and at the time we were given the 2008 prices - we have now been given the 2009 prices and our wondering what everyone else is being chargedhuh.gif?

Thanks :)

Hi Freckles,

thats a great question. We booked ours last Feburary 2008 for January 2009 at the 2008 rates. We are also curious about this.

We talked to Perla and Elisa and requested the Aqua package; we put down the 50% required for deposit to hold the date. Thats where we are now. We have of course traded some emails back and forth but thats merely it.

I emailed perla last thursday and i still havent heard from here yet. I shouldn't have to fly down there to talk to her. I know this is probably the busy season but we need answers to our questions.

From what Robin has said; you can take of most of this stuff in a hour or 2 planning the ceremony.

Were curious about the updated amentities list? photography prices? and if there is a open bar included in the packages for the 5 hours?

The Open bar kindof throws me off b/c its an allinclusive resort; therefore our guasts can get free drinks anywhere on the resort. The only thing we would be paying for is maybe a special brand or for the bartenders time?

I need someone to explain that one to me.

Thanks,

Julia & Ryan

For the open bar and the reason for the cost, I would say that it is because you will have staff that are there specifically for your event and you will be in an area of the resort that is separated off from other resort guests. There have been some threads on the forum in other areas about being charged even tho resorts are all inclusive and I think that is how it was explained by some of the TA's on here.

We are also doing a custom package so I can't answer about the charge for the bar in addition to the package price. Email Perla. She may take a little while to get back to you, but she will definitely answer all of your questions. Personally, I have found it easier to send one long email with a bunch of questions rather than several small emails.

I'm a pretty laid back bride and am really excited about the fact that I'm not going to make anything final until I get to Mexico in January. So I probably don't have a lot of answers for some of you. As long as at the end of the day we are married, not much matters to me in the way of details. (its driving my family who wants to know everything crazy lol) I have no idea if the prices she's given me are 2008 or 2009. I will be printing out my emails and bringing them down with me so there is no question how much the things I have decided on will cost. I figure that will be enough.

We have 2009 rates even though we made the reservation this year; however, the amenities were from 2008. Most likely, we're creating our own package. I was told that the buffets come w/ 3 hour open alcohol bar. Extra hours are $10 pp (for cocktail hour, etc). I remember being confused on this open bar situation also because I thought that the open bar automatically included alcohol (like the cocktail party in some of the packages) but it was only water and soft drinks. It seemed like the rates varied some in this regard. Btw, is Daniela, Perla's assistant, still at Paradisus? She has been my point of contact. I haven't sent an email in months. Is Elisa also an assistant?

Info attached -- I don't know if there has been any updates/changes since this fall.

Hey there,

Take a look at the excel spread sheet. I think its only for the duration of the wedding.

Some people are flying photographers down there. It may be cheaper since you know what your getting. But it seems Perla and her gang have tapped some pretty good photographers.

Cheers,

Ryan & Julia

Hey, sorry I'm no help. We booked Sol Tamargo after I found her online and fell in love. lol So, we never even asked about the resort photogs. I am wondering if maybe we could get a videographer just for our ceremony thru Paradisus...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
