Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I am the next "official" Paradisus to get married and that's on November 27. Have you emailed Perla to ask about availability?

In terms of locations - your best bet, regardless of size, is on the beach. Indoor wedding receptions for 120 could be in the banquet rooms or perhaps one of the restaurants - I don't really know!

I hope that helps!

2- What locations can you get married in for 120 guests at this hotel?

3- Is there anyplace indoors you can have your reception at this hotel for 120 people?

Thank you soooo much. I am trying to not freak out since I have 3 weeks to leave, but I just have to know my options or I'm going to go crazy!
I toured this place when I went down for a site visit at Dreams Tulum. It's beautiful and the best part? Only about 15-20 min from airport!
They have a huge indoor, a/c ballroom where you can have both your ceremony and reception. Their outdoor terrace is also pretty large but I'm not sure if it can fit 120.
Funny, I just pm'd a Paradisus bride to find out if my wedding date was taken. Nice to know I'm not the only one thinking forward.

I have a question for those of you who have gone to the resort. What are the bars like? I am assuming theres a piano type bar, then the pool bars, but are there a few good dance bars? We are having our wedding reception until 930, and I dont really want to pay per hour per person afterwards to keep an open bar for the music alone if there is a good dance bar on site with free booze??

If you did go to the bars what kind of music were they playing?

Any info or suggestions would be great

Fanny- I will just be missing you. We arrive on the 20th! WE should discuss if there are any things we can split the cost of- I don't know what exactly- but I'm just throwing that out there. I have no clue about anything. I think I am the most indecisive bride ever.

We are actually at a loss a little bit about the honeymoon. We were thinking initially travelling to another part of mexico, them switched to Belize then changed our mind again and are rethinking things. The state of the economy is weighing heavily on us as I am finishing grad school and we are also planning a move right after the wedding. Right now it seems too much all at once moneywise so we'll see....

As far as Dj vs ipod- If anyone ever books for my wedding :) then I will probably hire a dj. I have been in contact with Carlos at Mannia and he has a decent rate-($900 for 4 hrs believe)even though you pay $300 to bring him to the resort. They definately play american music. I beleive either dj will present you with a list of songs and you can choose ones that you def want and don't want. Becks gave him a great review but I do know Missy is using Swank so you may want to wait and see.

Sonnia- any questions about the paradisus just feel free to ask. It was great meeting you the other day. I booked 11 months in advance only cause I went there for the site visit and loved it so we put a deposit down. We really wanted Memorial day weekend though and Paradisus only does one wedding per day so I grabbed it.

It was great meeing you too!! I have been reading this thread and trying to
figure out if i can afford this place ! So what kind of rates are you ladies getting for these hotel & airfare? I am trying to see if this is something my guests can afford! Thanks again

Having my own pool is appealing I wouldn't only do it for the package I was just wondering what people are doing since it's so pricey. We are planning (fingers crossed) to luxuriate more on the official HM.

Some of our guests are staying for 10 days of our 13 day honeymoon, so being able to stay at our own pool if we want to be alone is a GREAT perk to me! I will say that to me it is ALOT of money. I swear I asked FI 25 times if he was sure he wanted to pay for it. He said yes every time so we went for it.
Oh my gosh it sure does make sense- we aren't planning that much longer of a stay at paradisus after the wedding- we are planning on going somewhere else for some R&R. This puts things in perspective for me.

The resort is beautiful!
Most people choose to have the ceremony on the beach. It is lovely there.

The only "dance bar" so to speak is the fun pub. They have a pretty small dance floor. it's not really a club but there were a lot of people dancing when we went. The music was a bit cheesy- but i'm sure you could request stuff. Standard American stuff I guess- A little hip hop/pop/latin tye the night I was there. This is most likely where we will go after our reception.

I think the last time I checked airfare with taxes was $565 ish pp from NYC for my weekend (ah!) and I want to say it's $300 for double occupance room. It's not inexpensive and I struggled initially but it's so pretty there and exactly the type of mellow ambiance that I wanted for my weekend. I would say go for what you really want (that's what people told me) and the people that really want to be there on your day will make it. Initially I was putting my guests first and stressing myself out! In the end I think you and FI need to be happy with the decision cause if you cater to someone specifically and they can't make it- that may be frustrating.

Hi ladies... does anyone know if we are allowed to bring our own decorations.. (centerpieces, linens, chair bows)... and if we are.. is there a charge for the "staff" decorating? Also how long is everyong having for the ceremony.. we are doing five hours including the cocktail hour.

Thank you so much.

YOu can bring your own decorations (we took all our centrepieces down for our site visit) and there is no set-up charge for that. In terms of timing - our ceremony is at 3:30 and we have the DJ booked to go as late as we want (there is no curphew)!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
