Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hello Paradisus girls! I am fairly new and am still in the initial planning process of just picking a location! Grr!! It's so frustrating! I've gone back and forth among several locations. I just recently ruled out Dreams Tulum (I hope I made the right decision!) and have it narrowed down to Paradisus, the Barcelo Maya Caribe and the Grand Palladium Kantenah. Right now Paradisus is the front runner. Do any of you have any suggestion or advice on why I should go with the Paradisus over the other two?

Hi Jackie,

Dreams Tulum was also in the running for me but we decided against it becuase it was too long a drive from the airport and then I was told that I couldn't have the receprion outdoors. Paradisus for us was really perfect. It has everything that we want and is classy yet still has a laidback beach feel. I didn't get a cookie cutter feel which I had when looking at the Barcelo. (I never actually saw it so I don't mean to offend. That was just from their website) Also, for me it was the timely response from the paradisus wedding coordinators. That was huge. i just couldn't imagine being so far and feeling so out of the loop or ignored. It sealed the deal when we went for a visit. If you can swing it- then do. Like everyone said- you'll know when you see it. I did.

Hi Jackie! I don't know if you looked thru the whole thread or not, and it has lots of info on why I chose the Paradisus.

I will acknowledge that it may not be as inexpensive as some of the other resorts, but the hotel and the WCs are amazing and have truly gone above and beyond to make sure my wedding is everything I want it to be. They've given me options to keep my costs down, and they have worked miracles to get me the things that are not on the standard request list.

I just can't say enough.

Quick question: Does anyone have a copy of the hotel map and activities schedule (the one they give you when you check in?) That they could scan and e-mail me or somehow get to me? I'm trying to finish up my welcome books and those are the last missing pieces.

I cannot for the LIFE OF ME find what I did with mine after we moved. So frustrating!!

And, yes, I've e-mailed Perla, too.

I have not had a chance to read through the whole thread but I will try to get through most of it today. I'm so excited that I might have a resort picked ya!! This has been sooooo frustrating! I agree with the long ride to Dreams Tulum - my fiancee's mother does not handle long rides well so I have counted that out. I also have counted out the Barcelo for certain reasons as well. Now it's down to the Pardissus and the Palladium. Anyone know anything about the Palladium? I really like what I see of the Paradisus and actually right now, I am finding it's about $100 cheaper per person to book at that resort versus the Palladium...hmm.....maybe I should take that as a sign.

Hi Jackie,

I too am a new Paradisus bride. I know how frustrating it can be, my FI and I must have changed our minds so many times. One of the things that sealed the deal for me was that the Paradisus does one wedding a day, unless you have a really small group then they might do two, but in general its is one. This was huge for us as we didnt want a resort that had the "wedding factory" feel. Also the resort allowed children but didnt cater to them as we are inviting people of all ages. Perla has been fantastic at emaiing back very quickly and takes the time to answer your questions. Hope that helps even just a little.

Hey Jackie,

Welcome! I am planning my wedding at Paradisus and have to say that Perla the WC there is awesome at getting back to me within 24 hours of every email I send her (so far anyway). It really puts my mind at ease. That's a huge plus for me...

Let us know what you choose!

OMG! Thanks sooo much! You have no idea how much this all helps! I feel so much like this is the right place for us and to read your experiences so far are priceless. It worried me right away b/c it didn't seem like a lot of girls were picking this place, but all of you are making me feel so much better!! I'm anxiously awaiting for our final price quote from our travel agent....it was due back today and guess what? She is having computer problems so now we have to wait until tomorrow! sad.gif Oh well...what's one more day I guess, right?

Ok....so my TA just got back to me with some prices. When I look at those exact dates on expedia.com, my guests and I could book for $200 cheaper than what she is quoting us. Why is that and would you all recommend to go through the TA or get the better prices on expedia or other online deals?

If I remember correctly the Palladium is part of a group of resorts? If that's right I looked into it in the beginning and decided against it because I thought there was a chance it would be crowded, especially the beach- compared to Paradisus which is smaller so less people.

This happened with one of my guests and they called our TA- the TA said she could match the price. Sometimes there are deals online. I would see if the TA can match it if you like working with them. I like knowing that if we have any travel problems I can call our TA and she will handle them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
