I am loving reading about your experiences here...

Hi Kim!!!! Come and join the party!!! We all LOOOOOVE the Paradisus. I actually looked at the Azul as my back-up location. But the Paradisus is SO great - you can do just about ANYTHING you want (obviously, for a price). They have accomodated so many special requests from us! Outside DJ, outside photog, special venue for our wedding dinner, arranging a snorkel tour for all of our guests, special arrangements for the welcome dinner and cocktail hour.

Elisa and Perla are wonderful!

You Rock!! Thank you!!!

I'm ready to get planning!! pinkie.gif

Paradisus was my first choice... then I found Azul and I loved how small Azul is.. I don't want to get married in one of those mega-resorts with 14,000 rooms!

I found some pics on trip advisor.. some wedding pics... the chairs are white with brown bows... and the tables are beautiful!

My first question - what is their policy on outside photogs? Since that's what has made me leave Azul. hissyfit.gif

Hi Kim! We are all keeners in this thread and are in love love love with the Paradisus! I think Becks actually secretly has shares in it! (JJ)

In terms of outside photog - we are bringing someone down with us for the week - staying at the resort etc. and they are charging us nothing. I know that Becks is doing something similar with no issue - in terms of using someone local - somebody else may need to chime in on this one!

On another note - after many discussions with FI and going back and forth we booked SWANK. He was able to give me five hours for the price of the 2007 rate which only ended up being about 200 bucks more than Mannia - Honestly it is really b/c I don't want to deal with any potential conflicts..

And swank (sp?) is the DJ guy, right?

We were planning a morning wedding.. Around 11 a.m. Then we wanted to have a champagne brunch.

I believe I read that there's a corking fee to bring your own bubbly in, because I'm sure their prices are high.

I noticed all the talk about wedding times.. dinner times and reception.. I hadn't thought about that for myself!! smile116.gif

I thought we'll get married.. we've have brunch... and then we're done!

But I guess I have to plan a little time in there for pics after the wedding.

The champagne that the hotel serves gratis is... um... bad. Plain and simple, it's not what you want for your wedding. The premium champagne is good stuff, but it starts at about $100 per bottle. You can bring in your own and they charge you a $10 per bottle corkage fee. I haven't yet seen what is available in town or what the prices are, but that's on my to do list.

Melissa - glad to hear that you got the DJ sorted. I am sure Swank will be great!

Kim,

Welcome! You are going to love the Paradisus. I know after reading other posts from girls getting married at other resorts, I am always glad I chose the Paradisus.

Becks-did you book your snorkeling tour through Elisa and Perla or directly through Best Day tours?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
