It also looks like there is a charge for Power (WTF!?)
So, fly down the morning of the 9th - PLENTY of time!!!! Okay, wishful thinking, but I would love to have you!!!

Carlos tells me that he needs 20 Amps, so only $50. But yes, the fees do add up. I've sent a note to Elisa asking her to confirm that the Paradisus does not charge anything in addition to the $65 per hour. We'll see what she says, but even then... it's still $300 cheaper than Swank. AND, Mannia's price includes the lights - for which Swank wants to charge Kim $600. Total savings is over $900!

I wonder if the insurance is a one time thing (i.e., would he have to get it each time he did a wedding at the Paradisus!?) I would way rather go with him - especially if the $300 is waved given that we would be paying $65 per hour to Swank... Keep us posted and I will keep working on FI for the 9th!

Hi Girls! And Welcome, Steph! I am new, too... this is probably THE GREATEST thing I have found! I love it... although I kinda get freaked out thinking about everything I still need to do and my wedding is in less than three months!!!

I am so sorry that I have been MIA for the past few days... I have been working on our DARLING wedding invitiations... I will send pics once I have them all done... It has been really hard work, but I think we have saved a couple of thousands of dollars! Happy Saturday to everyone!! I am off to finish them... oh, and btw, thanks so much for all of the vendor/ DJ info! I am going to see about booking Carlos! Thanks so much Missy and Becks!!

:)

Kim

Nothing from Elisa or Swank telling me what using Mannia is going to cost. So, will call later today.

On another note, has anyone inquired about shipping things down for OOT bags, etc?

I asked Perla about shipping things down early and she informed me that they will NOT accept packages before you arrive. The best thing to do is to ship them to yourself at the resort so that the timing will make them arrive at the resort once you are there. Perla wasn't responding to my emails either (and she is usually good about getting back to me) so I called her and she apologized and told me she has been swamped with weddings.

FYI: I am booked for a site visit and meeting with Perla May 30-June1st so if anyone needs anything or questions answered while I am there I will happy to help!

P.S. Thanks so much for all the info on the DJ. I have been so uneasy about Swank but thought there was no way around using them. I am definitely going to look more into Mannia while I am down there in May.

Hopefully they will be better at responding - Perla has been really really slow lately - I would much prefer to use Mannia for DJ - keep me posted on the costs front - I am interested to hear whether they are going to charge the $300 fee in addition to the per hour rate...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
