Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Is your block thru the hotel?

If it is, and people haven't done all their booking, I'd stronly suggest you see if a TA can find a wholesaler to work with. The block that the Paradisus offered us was about $100 more per night ($50 per person) that my TA found thru her wholesaler.

We started with the basic (Wish) package and just started adding on. None of the packages was quite what we wanted, so it just made more sense.

No - its very family friendly - they have special "family concierge" rooms designed specifically for families. You even get a walkie talkie to keep you in touch with the "family concierge" people throughout the day.

All my nieces and nephews are staying in these rooms.

That's odd...we talked to Perla and Elisa last week and they said you definitely do get a discount on the per person dinner rate if you book a block of 20 or more rooms through their groups department. I think I mentioned before though that the room block rate is WAY higher than the published online rates, which is how they can afford to give you the meal discount. I'm sure if you call her and discuss in more detail, this would get cleared up.

Also, she and Elisa DEFINITELY said there IS a charge to customize the cocktail hour if you go with the Fantasy/Aqua/Chill-Out package and to customize the plated dinner menu, but there is NO charge to customize the buffet menu.

BandE2008 - The Paradisus is NOT an adult only resort

...only the optional "Royal Service" package is adult only (they'll put you in one of four prime location, beachfront bungalows and you'll have access to a private/separate section of the beach with beach bar and also the secluded royal service pool...none of these specific areas are open to children, but the rest of the resort is and its actually really kid friendly).

Melissa, Perla also has not mentioned anything about contract to me.

I also put a deposit and filled out that wedding registration form...but i could guess that she may not offer it to me, since we are having a little ceremony there with about 10-12 guests...i signed up for basic Wish pacakge, and she told me also i can change package at any time, add things and etc...

I havent seen anything about a contract either and my wedding is in 3 months should I be worried?? For some reason I got the impression a contract was given to those who booked the group rates through the hotel, for the discounts on dinner etc. I have to email Perla about a few things so I will include this in my email as well. Let me know if any of you hear anything.

Sounds good! We will only have a couple people booking through the hotel directly as we have a package through Air Canada Vacations but my TA was going to go through the resort to work out the block of rooms through our travel company - maybe you're right about a contract only for the room block!

Good Morning! I was wondering if anyone has a clear understanding of how long the reception lasts? I know the cocktail with the Fantasy package is 1 hour and I believe 30min with the other packages but I havent seen any clear indication about the length of the reception. 3hrs, 4hrs? Has anyone spoken to the WC's about this?

I would guess 4hrs also only b/c the DJ service is 4hrs but I wanted to be sure. I guess I need to add that to my list of ?'s to Perla. Im crossing my fingers for 4hrs b/c 3 just seemed so short.

Wow....There's been so many posts....I had no idea they got rid of our old thread.

So to answer the question about a contract - I did sign one when I put down my $800wedding date deposit, and I signed another contract when I put down my $4000 room block deposit. The room block contract stated that I get a a discount on all food since I have the room block. I'm still not sure how to post on my reply, so if you'd like to see a copy please PM me.

I'm getting the fantasy package, with 70-80 people. We did a customized buffet menu for $35/person which included, 2 salads, 3 meats, and 2 sides, and 2 deserts. I'm having Tera Misou (sp) WHICH IS THE BOMB! and something else...I'll look it up. And also wedding cake. The guests are paying $320/nt for the room or $160/person for double occupancy, or $250 for single occupancy. Children are an additional $90.

Michele, I think Claudia Photo was on the list when I signed the contract last summer - I wonder if I'll have to pay the $300 fee. I'm using Citlalli. I didn't like her pictures when I saw them on the site - but when I met with her in December and she showed me her recent work it literally brought tears to my eyes.

With less than 2 months away, I'm starting to stress a little about the Rehearsal Dinner, OOT bags, and guest activities...but I just started delegating, so I feel a lot better.

Do any of you have wedding websites. Check ours out www.leshayandrolando.com pw: paradisus...

Did any of you start a planning Bio?

Any I received a quote of near $800 for the equipment from Swank too! And I thought that was REDICULOUS! But when you compare it to almost $2000 for a DJ - I just couldn't believe it. I'm getting annoyed just thinking about it...So we're bringing our Ipod....

I'm not as savvy with all the techy stuff on this site, but if I can help any of you in any way...Please let me know.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
