Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Diana! By the way, I mentioned to FI yesterday that there was another Paradisus couple in the NY area. We should grab a drink some night if you are up for it.

We are going with the "Wish" package - it's for 6 people, so everyone else is a +$, but it includes the minister, gazebo, ceremony music, basic bouquet, cake, etc.

So, we used that as our starting point and went from there.

Oh, one other thought...

I love a nice glass of champagne/sparkling wine. The house sparkling at the Paradisus is... um... awful. The per bottle price for the "premium" sparklings is about $100 per bottle.

However, they will allow you to bring your own booze - there's a $10 per bottle corkage fee. We'll be making a run to a liquor store or Costco to pick up some decent champagne at a decent price.

I'm trying to get a quote from Costco. If I hear anything, I'll be sure to let you know.

Yeah! I'm so happy a new Paradisus thread was started.

Me and my Fi are in the NY area also, if you guys get together let us know.

I've noticed that the Paradisus keeps changing the "recommended" photogs. When I first started planning they had 3 to choose from, when I put the deposit down with the Paradisus they were using Claudia Photo (which is who I booked with) and now they are using this other company Mexican Wedding Photos that you guys mentioned. Too much to keep up with LOL. I booked with Citlalli from Claudia Photos who is reviewed on BDW a lot of girls have been happy with her. I wasn't in awwee when I saw the photos online either but after seeing some of the girls wedding photos from Citlalli I felt that I made the right choice. They were gorgeous.

We opted to go for the Fantasy package there was a lot of stuff in the other packages we just didn't want and Perla told us its easiest to just add to the Fantasy or Wish. We are estimating around 40 guests (12 booked so far YEAH, our friends and family are the biggest procrastinators LOL). Invitations just went out today so hopefully that will motivate more to book. Which reminds me I have to post photos when I get home.

You might be right Becks Claudias husband does videos so this might be a new website.
If you like Claudias work I say it doesnt hurt to ask Perla.

hi everybody...thanks for getting a new thread started Melissa!

diana - FI and I just went for a site and Becks and her FI were there the weekend before...have you read through the reviews?

we are going with the fantasy package and we're likely to have at least 100ppl...our guest list is getting a bit out of control!!!

we are going to go with claudia rodriguez for photo. mexicanweddingphotos is part of her company, she's just a bit pricier so Perla and Elisa now suggest her assistants (Citrella, etc)...and yes, her husband is the videographer. let me find the package info she sent me and i'll post it. we're waiting on the her general contract to come through before put down our deposit, but she's holding our date for us. I'll post the contract too once it comes through.

i wanted to mention something that Perla and Elisa told me while we were there and I don't think anyone else has brought up. We didn't like everything in any of the buffet menus (and we're going with a buffet) so they said we can mix and match whatever we want from the different buffets to basically create our own buffet menu the price will stay the same ($60pp). They didn't specify exactly how many salads, veggies, meats and desserts we could have because it'll depend on our selection, but I think its good to know you have that option.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
