Help! So I'm about to send in my reservation form in the next day or so, and need to indicate where the hold the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner reception. For sure ceremony on the beach, but now I'm not so sure on the cocktail and dinner.. Based on all the pictures out there, I thought I was set on the Tequila Terrace, but in showing my FI the options, he liked the beach terrace. Doesn't seem like many people choose that though, why not?? Thoughts? Thanks ladies! :)

Hello!

I can't say from first hand but seeing all the pictures I agree on the Tequila Terrace..that being said I'm not much of a fan of the beach.  I feel like sand gets every where and I feel it can be uncomfortable for older folks...

Just my thoughts!  Good luck!!

hi!  i am getting married on the beach terrace on feb 19th.  some people worry that the area won't be too private but i'm not really worried about it.  we have about 60 guests coming so i'm sure i won't even notice people around the area if they are looking! haha.  i've read that some people say the area is small too but daniela told me it could hold up to 200 people.  both the tequila terrace and the beach terrace look so nice so whatever you decide will be perfect on your day! :)

here is a picture of the set up that she sent to me:

Wish I had more time to comment you can see a couple pics I took while I was there - link at the bottom of my review here:

There's a photo I took at night of the pool, there's a space between the pool and lobby that Sandra said you could do cocktails if you didn't want to do it in the same place as the reception. Just fyi...

Hi Ladies,

So, we finally did it - we're booked for July 29, 2011 at the NOW Sapphire :) We picked the Tequila Terrance to have the reception and cocktail hour and will do the ceremony on the beach just below the terrace.  FI wanted the ceremony on the Terrace too for the privacy but I really wanted it on the beach since we're going all the way to Mexico for the beach!  We picked Tequila Terrace because we heard that it's more private than the Beach Terrace.  Our next step is to pick the time of our ceremony.  We had originally thought to have the ceremony at 4:30 but the WC at NOW told our WC that it's still going to be very hot at 4:30 in July....they suggested 6 but I'm wondering that it may be too late?  We want to do cocktails and pictures after the ceremony.  Anyone have any thoughts on time of ceremony?

Thanks!

Congrats on getting it booked LHD!! That's so exciting! smile123.gif

I keep going back and forth on the Tequila vs Beach terrace.. FI said he really REALLY liked the beach terrace, and he hasn't had too much of a strong opinion on much at this point, so maybe I'll give this one to him! lol  I'm sure they will both be beautiful, which doesn't help my indecisive mind wink.gif

As for ceremony time, I would agree on pushing it back. That time of year the sun sets at about 7:30 pm, and some general recommendations I've read is to have the ceremony start about 55-65 minutes before sunset (best time for light, etc). Plus saves your guests from sweating it out under the sun!!! I don't think a 6 pm start time would be too late. That means your cocktail hour would likely be 6:30-7:30ish with dinner afterwards, right? Little later start on the dinner, but remember they will have appetizers during the cocktail hour, so that should tide over any hungry folks :)

Thanks sarcrook!  When are you getting married?  Please let us know what you think of the resort after your site visit and the best places for the reception and ceremony.  We didn't have the time to do a site visit before we picked the resort :(

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
