So glad to hear this! i can't wait to hear your review and see your pictures.... i am getting married at the now sapphire on feb 19th and my reception is going to be on the beach terrace, we have about 56 people coming so far, daniela assured me they will make it private and told me not to worry.  did you see any weddings set up there? i'm nervous, but i'm sure it will be fine, i can't stress myself out! haha!

I'm planning on typing up a full review with pros and cons of all places we saw but I need to find the time. I can tell you this...we've ruled out Jade and Sapphire is in our top 2 (along with Azul Sensatori). Jade was very nice (loved the pool!) but it was a little too commercial for us. Sapphire definitely had more culture and depth, which we really liked. The tequila terrace opened up on our date which made it a contender because the beach terrace wasn't private enough. Sandra was very nice and gave a full tour and spent some time with us. Even being there in front of her though, still not all answers were totally clear. I find that they don't like to SAY much because it's going to be used against them. I took lots of pictures and hope to have them online soon to share!

Jystar, when you say that the Tequilla Terrace opened up what do you mean. I spoke with Sandra last Friday the 26th and she said that they were doing some renovations to it. Can you let me know if that has been done yet. She said something about the completion date being Dec 4th, but it would be awesome to know that it is complete.

Thanks!!!

When I got married there our deposit went towards the total cost of the wedding but that may have changed. I wouldn't think so. I would get her to clarify.

A deposit is required to confirm and hold the requested wedding date. Deposit of $500.00 USD is required. This deposit is not refundable and it is not deductible of any of the Wedding Packages

The whole "not deductible of any of the wedding packages" phrase confuses me. Does the $500 deposit go towards the total balance of your package plus extra meals/flowers/etc? Thanks!

We got married on the terrace and there was another wedding at the beach terrace and we never saw or heard them. I did get a glimpse though while we were taking pictures and it was beautiful.

in the emails/paperwork that i received it says that the deposit will applied towards the wedding package or any extras that we add.  i better have that highlighted when i go there in 2 months just in case! haha! :)

The beach terrace is nice, it really is. It's just right next to the pool (which I hadn't noticed in other pictures). Just make sure they give you a good plan for how they're going to block it off (and when).

thank you soooooooo much for your review and for your pictures! i am so excited! our reception will be later in the afternoon (our ceremony is at 5) so i figure there will be less people in the pools and stuff at that time, i'm sure there will be some people around and looking but i probably won't even notice that during the reception since we will have close to 60 people there...  the resort looks beautiful (all of them did!)!  i'll have to ask daniela how they keep the area blocked off for receptions.  i should be getting my answers shortly, almost 2 months to go! :)

did you guys decide on a place yet since your site visits??? all of the places you went to look so pretty!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
