Angie, You were my good luck girl. Thanks again for the phone chat last night. I bet I sounded stressed. I came home today and I just cranked it out. Tomorrow, I'm supposed to be getting a call from Sandra (we'll see) I just asked and she actually replied to the one email I sent weeks ago, but all the other questions I have asked in the past 7 days she hasn't gotten back to.

I just re-read a bunch of old pages. Someone else has Sandra too right?.. hmm... anyway, went through all my old emails to her and made a monster spreadsheet of questions. I know it would be better to email them to her and get her reply, but I am thinking email is a thing of the past as they must be going into a dark hole somewhere?!!!???!!!

Once I get all her feedback, I'll email the ques back to her with the answers and make sure that I get confirmation of them.

As for my dress, it's all picked up and ready to rock it, tho without having too much of an appetite lately I am a little concerned. Sure it will be fine.

I have booked my photog and dj confirmed as of today that they both rec'd the funds I had to wire to them. Downloading a bunch of various songs and making cd's right now. 10 days from our flight date and 12 days from the wedding. I am excited, and it's been quite the 'trip' to say the least.

If anyone has any questions let me know. I will check my email in the morning and I am more then happy to ask Sandra as to help you, I know how unbareable it can be when you have a ques that don'tt get answered!!! ha.

Last thing, having my reception on the Tequilla terrace, and I noticed Babestaaa had mentioned getting wedge heels. I do see the grooves on the deck, I guess I was hoping that they have a plan for covering that up... anyone know (other then a lighting dance floor) if having a flat platform is an option?...

It is on my to ask list, but I thought I would ask in case she doesn't get to me till later in the day, and I have time to look around for a wedge online in the day.

so last minute... I know.... Eeeek

Iâ€m planning my wedding hopefully for January 2012 and  it will be in playa del Carmen surroundings, I was thinking about Paradisus, can someone share an experience? I'm new in the forum, but for now I want to share my experience hope it helps :), Iâ€m just returning from my sisterâ€s wedding in a beautiful beach at Mayan Riviera near Playa del Carmen, it was incredible beautiful but the most important thing for her was the wedding decoration because she loves natural flowers and I need to say the floral decoration was amazing, my sister and I went down in a site visit last year to help her to chose the perfect wedding location, ones in town we met a French Florist, his name is Cyrille Ribet, his e-mail address is driada@floreriadriada.com, he showed us a little of his job and we loved it, he did events in different countries around the world, he is events planner, that is why he knew what we were looking for, but no one of the pictures can show his true job, ones you see it a live is much better.  We walked around playa del Carmen looking for a cheap flower shop and we gladly found out he is one of the cheapest, good job-good price from my sisterâ€s bouquet until the wedding reception dinner.

Simplicity is my modo. I am trying to stay as modern as I can. I have picked Turquise and White as my theme color. I am going with the Calla Lilly centerpieces. Which basically is a couple of tall lilly's in a vase. I am focusing more on the alter and the facade.

I dont have a wedding party and have only 30 guests coming. Trying to secure an alter that is more of a grand look. If you look 2 or 3 pages back I did like that big blocky looking one from that event planning vendor. So Sandra said she could get that for us.

We're going for the white modern couches which were totally well priced and those circle little light up balls for the beach area for cocktail time.

It was a great conversation with her yesterday, and I really feel like with 7 days left I have more things that I have been able to get answers for.

I get it now with the destination style. You really dont know until the bitter end, so ladies if you can hang on till the end to find out it will be worth it.

TRUST me these guys can get you anything you want and then some. I can say I was on the other side of the fence that I was on only up until a couple of days ago, but we are def making some headway here and I feel so much better and upbeat about it all.

Other then my pc crashing yesterday.. I know right there aint nothing that will stop me. Good thing I had everything backed up and I dont need to download any songs. I am good and still rolling with the punches. But I could be even better if the punches just slowed down a little. Lol

Looks like the Tequilla Terrace (where I was planning to do my reception) has some renovations that it is going through with a completion date of the day I arrive (Dec 4th) really hoping they can have it done by my wedding date (the 6th) I know they are getting rid of the grooves on the deck. Ladies with wedges, keep your eyes out when I get back and post pics. You may need to return them and get some HEELS!! Woohoo...

Got ques?... Lemme me know. I am sky high these days, and really dont sleep much anyway. Lol

Quick question for someone who has been married at the NOW Sapphire recently.. I was just glancing through the wedding book that Daniela had sent me and read the deposit section a little more closely, but the wording confused me:

A deposit is required to confirm and hold the requested wedding date. Deposit of $500.00 USD is required. This deposit is not refundable and it is not deductible of any of the Wedding Packages

The whole "not deductible of any of the wedding packages" phrase confuses me. Does the $500 deposit go towards the total balance of your package plus extra meals/flowers/etc? Thanks!

I am back!! We flew home to Northern California after our trip to Mexico and spent Thanksgiving with our families. They even threw us an engagement party on Friday, it was a lot of fun! I'm planning on typing up a full review with pros and cons of all places we saw but I need to find the time. I can tell you this...we've ruled out Jade and Sapphire is in our top 2 (along with Azul Sensatori). Jade was very nice (loved the pool!) but it was a little too commercial for us. Sapphire definitely had more culture and depth, which we really liked. The tequila terrace opened up on our date which made it a contender because the beach terrace wasn't private enough. Sandra was very nice and gave a full tour and spent some time with us. Even being there in front of her though, still not all answers were totally clear. I find that they don't like to SAY much because it's going to be used against them. I took lots of pictures and hope to have them online soon to share!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
