Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Oh sorry, it was under $10k just for the hotel stuff. Our total amount we ended up paying for everything ... dress, photographer, gifts, OOT bags, honeymoon, rings, travel, invitations, website, etc was close to $25K, which is way cheaper than what we would have paid having a wedding back home..  I've heard of other brides doing it for under $10k but I have no clue how!  Go to the Budget thread, that may help.

Ivan cost us around $650 plus another $500 for the dance floor but he did tell me that since we booked his prices have gone up so don't quote me on that. There is a $300 outside vendor fee. No problems though with an outside DJ.

Hope this isn't too personal for questions, but I think I would have a group right around 40 ppl, so close to what you had.. You said you were under $10K easily, but I was wondering what all you included in that number? I'd like my total budget to be at $10K, including photography, travel, wedding dress, gifts, AHR, etc. Would you mind letting me know what your final price for the resort was (i.e. ceremony, dinner reception, dance, etc)? Maybe my numbers are just unrealistic!! It just seems there are so many 'extra' fees, that I'm finding it hard to compare resorts! Feel free to PM me if you would rather not post that..

Few other questions -- how much was it to have DJ Ivan come in, and how much for the lighted dance floor? Any outside vendor fees have to be paid for that? Any hassle with having an external DJ?

Congrats and thanks for posting your pictures! Sorry to hear that you had issues with the weather and a number of your guests weren't able to attend sad.gif Looks like everything turned out beautifully though! You looked great!! Can't wait to see more pics!

Thanks for the answers! The more and more I look at things, the more I think that my idea of a $10K total isn't really going to happen! A girl (and her checking account) can dream though, right?!  lol

Weddings aren't so expensive where I live, so it's hard to spend for me to so much on a DW since it's not saving me anything, but it's always been my dream to be married on a beach, so whatever.. We'll make it work! wink.gif

btw, see you're from Charlotte.. my grandpa lives there (well suburb at least). Love that city!! Wish I could visit more often

Ah, yes, tipping.. I'll be sure to budget that into things, too. Thanks!!

ok ladies,

So I have my wedding book and going over all the small details. With only 27 days left till my wedding you can say I am completely turned off about eating as I am so stressed. I know I am trying to stay calm, but my nerves are getting the best of me.

We just found out that you cannot book at Now during our week 12/4 - 12/11. As you can imagine many thing run through my head.... High occupancy is one primary concern.. more guest.. more lineups... more people is not always good when it comes to needing more service.

Anyway, trying not to stress about that.... Yoga may help.. I'll try anything right now!!

Annette, don't stress. More people also means more activities and all the restaurants will be open! When we were there in July it was booked but it didn't feel like it. The place is spread out enough. The only difference is getting a pool chair ... need to stake your claim early when it's busy!

It's going to be great! Take a deep breathe!

I'm here now. My wedding is Sunday and there are 4 other weddings this week. I have 93 guests in about 45-50 rooms and the hotel is booked to capacity. We had guests book this past week when the weather got cold in NY and they decided to come after either never rsvping or rsvping no. They got rooms even though we were told the hotel was sold out.

Do not stress about it! More people is fun in the resort. We haven't had a problem with service or the restaurants and Angie is right that it means all restaurants are open- way better! Just take towels the night before, wake up early (which, trust me, you will anyway) and put the towels on chairs to reserve them early at the beach and/or pool.

It's amazing. You will love it. I've already watched 2 weddings and they were beautiful. Yes, I was one of those people sitting and watching on the terrace.

Don't sweat the small stuff and you'll be fine. There will be snags, but roll with it and everything will be wonderful!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
