Aly, I have been so crazy busy with work and all these darn showers and wedding planning that I started drafting my review but have never finished.

Overall, we loved the resort. It is beautiful and the food is great. Daniela the WC is awesome and like you said, I don't think we have anything to worry about.

The only downsides I would say is that the beds are not the best but I was told that is part of the renovations they will be doing and by October, 100 or so rooms should be done. Also, when it rains the marble floors get really slippery so warn your guests.  While we were there a woman slipped and hit her head and had to go to the hospital. You do have to make reservations for the Japanese but none of the other restaurants.

I've attached a few pics.

Let me know if you have any questions!

I am now going to start working on my OOT bags!

They are planning to replace the railing but not the roof as it wasn't really a roof anyways so if it rained it wouldn't matter.

I am planning to do the reception there on the deck and the ceremony on the beach below.  Here's a pic. The chuppah will be closer to the water of course to allow more chairs.

WOW i just looked at this thread and wa-LA! tons of details I can use! avong1288 (sorry I don't know your name!), do you by chance happen to have the packet with the wedding info sent to you by the WC? I've been emailing with her, and yesterday she sent me an email saying she would be sending the pricing, cake, flower, etc information in a separate email... and then never did.  I am DYING to look at it!

We're planning a visit there and to dreams and RIU in 3weeks. I just want to be 100% sure for our 2012 wedding..crazy right lol. No questions but thanks for your help :)

hey, when in 2012 are you looking to have your wedding? I'm a 2012 bride too, probably for NOW sapphire, and I thought I was the only one on here planning that far ahead! of course, I *am* probably the only one on here not (quite) engaged yet, but, you know... details schmetails.  rofl.gif

I am doing the same thing Angie! We're planning on doing the chairs in kind of a semi circular shape facing the chuppah to allow for more room since it seems we will have between 80 and 100 people. The stairs will act as part of the aisle.

I'm actually glad they're not putting the roof back up because I was worried about going up on the chairs with it.

Are you doing a band or a dj?

Oh and reading back further a bit in this thread, it seems like everyone here knows each other! so I guess I should introduce myself- hi! I'm Ayslinn, I'm not actually getting married until 2012 but I'm starting early on the research planning thing because I'm super excited and I want to give my guests as much time as possible to make reservations and such.

You ladies all seem to be miles ahead of me (I have some information but not a ton) so I'm just gonna keep on reading so I can catch up!

Anyways, nice to meet 'cha. smile159.gif

I've attached what Aly actually gave me. They don't have all the prices on there or menus. We picked an old menu since we had picked it prior to the change but from what I know they only have sit down options.  If anyone has the list of old hors devours, they are the same options.  I am doing the Devine and we get 4 cold and paid extra to do 2 cold and 2 hot.

We are having a DJ.

To be honest, I really wish I wouldn't have freaked out at first about planning the actual wedding part since they really will take care of it all pretty easily.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
