Exactly shannon, my dogs LOVE going to the kennel, heated floors, they are in the same room with unlimited access to an outside fenced 'pen', 2 walks a day...

Also, $50 a day for the two of them :|

I figure if she knows that I come back for her on the day visits she won't bug out on the long stay. Check them out they even have Yappy Hour LOL!
Yappy Hour how cute! I live about 20 minutes away from Franklinville, that would be a good place for me to check out. Let me know how your dog makes out there. My one dog loves doggie day care, he loves to play with other dogs and run around like a nut. If your dog is the same way she will love it there too.

I am having trouble finding a place that will atke my dog. She used to fight one of my mom's dogs all the time, so I have to say that and no place will board an aggressive dog. I will not lie about it, b/c I want people to be aware that she occasionally doesn't like other dogs. Usually it's when I am around, she is pretective, but either way, I want people to be aware. I have NO clue what to do with her for 9 days!

I hire people to stay at my house. I have never had a problem. Maybe ask your friends and see if any of them have friends or family that they trust to do it for you. There is a big university here where I live and if you check the paper there are always college kids that have experience and need the money. Lots of them even have references. You might check the paper and see what's available.

Hey Debs...

If I were you I would look around for a better price. My boarding is $22 a day, but I know they give discounts for multiple pets you board with them.

Also, in the past we have had a pet sitter come and watch our dog in our home, but this was actually more expensive.

Maybe you can find a college student (Animal Lover) who can help you out.

Hope you find a better option soon, because $1000 is outrageous.

We have a dog and we have done both the at home thing and the boarding. we have a dog walker during the week so we have left Barney with her but he loves going on his "vacation" to the kennel.

For all you Toronto/Ontario girls we use "Redwood Pet Resort" in Milton. Basic package is $23 per day and they get 24 hour access to outside - it's family run and they love Barney and Barney loves them!

Here's the site - Welcome to Redwood Pet Resort

I have a friend who can't travel with us, so I'm going to ask her to stay at my house. She's a little flighty but I know I can trust her to not have any crazy parties or steal things or smoke in the house. I'm sure her boyfriend will stay with her. I used to not be a big fan but he has grown on me.

This really has been a huge concern for me!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
