ah, thanks. Probably why I missed it, it was over christmas.

Oddly, my dogs love going to the kennel! It's at our vets, so they are well taken care of. It's just the bill I'm not looking forward to, but it's a cost of the wedding I suppose!

Friends just don't have the same care for my animals. Like my pups dont' get human food AT ALL. When ever we have people over for some reason they think it's ok to give my dogs food? WTF? Then for 2 weeks after that I need to break them off begging. it's annoying!

I still have to find a place for our two doggies. One has stayed at a kennel before but usually they stay with family. Since our usual puppy caretakers are all going to Tulum with us, they both will have to stay at a kennel this time. We plan on having Tim's parents pick them up when they get back in town, while we are on honeymoon. That way we save us some money and save our pups from being without familiar people for too long.

I have thought about hiring a pet sitter for our groups dogs (5 total), but I don't know if that would work.

I boarded my dogs once at the vet. A day after I got back my dogs were hacking really bad... I couldn't understand what was wrong. Apparently they had caught Kennel Cough. So on top of the Boarding bill, I then had to take them back and get medicine for them. It was horrible. I try and keep them out of the kennel as much as possible. I think my friend's friend is going to stay at my house for the week I am gone. Seeing that I have four dogs... it gets pretty expensive to board then medicate. I would say just find someone you can trust... even if they can only come over to feed and pet for an hour or so. I think the dogs feel more comfortable being at home.

I am not sure what part of NJ you live in but I am boarding my dog at the Halo House in Franklinville. I went for a tour and the place is neat. There was a ton of dogs and the place is highly recommended. I am dropping my dog off for a few day visits they call it doggie day care. I figure if she knows that I come back for her on the day visits she won't bug out on the long stay. Check them out they even have Yappy Hour LOL!

Christine... saving my bacon again!!! :P

Kat, we usually board our babies for a getaway once a year for the weekend, so they are always vaccinated against Kennel Cough. It's much cheaper to pay for the vaccination then to get them better if they get sick!!

We have 2 dogs that we board when we go on vacay--- I hate leaving them- but the place is nice-they have rooms-- like miniture bedrooms they stay in- so it doesn't look like a "kennel" - and our dogs can stay in the same room-so they keep each other company----- they get 2 walks a day as well as "playtime" with the other dogs... I feel comfortable leaving them there-- however, the down side--- it's always a pretty big added expense-it's $48/night for the dogs sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
