Confession: I love my best friend to death but sometimes she drives me crazy because she makes more than double what I make, lives at home with her parents still, her dad pays for her school, and when I say I cant afford to go out, especailly lately with saving for the wedding, she complains she also doesn't have any money and that's she so super broke, meanwhile I'll hear her tell other people she has over 15k in savings.

I feel the same way. I once sort of mentioned this to my FI and now all he says is that HE thinks we should have had a big wedding at home. I now have to try and convince him that a DW wedding is the best option for us.

Believe me ladies, you will be soo happy you made the DW choice. We didn't get to do the DW and I would have loved it so much more than our big wedding with ALL our family and friends. You will have people there that want to make the effort to be there and aren't just coming for the open bar.

And my confession is I'm so incredibly confused by this new layout. I just got used to my local board on the nest(does that make me a traitor?) and now BDW changed too!

And I miss siggy pictures! I loved seeing people, that's how I recognize people, at least more so than icon pics.

I know me too!! I would mostly look at their siggy pic, and not even know their "name". So now I'm a little confused as to who some people are now that the siggy pics are gone! sad.gif

I'll second this.  We were disappointed that a few of our close friends were unable to come to our wedding.  At one point, I wondered if I did the right thing.  Then I had our AHR, and all I kept thinking was "Thank goodness this is NOT my wedding".  I barely got to talk to anyone.  I ran in circles all night.  Did not enjoy any of the food that everyone told me was delicious and I spent so much time selecting, because everytime I started to eat someone wanted to talk to us or take our picture.  I danced one dance with my husband all night.  My DW was the exact opposite.  I danced most of the evening, was able to talk to, hand out with and have a great time with all my guests, and got to enjoy the fabulous food.

I am looking forward to my DW more and more now that it is getting closer, but I have concerns and worry about it. Like what if no one dances? We only have 18 of us and I got a DJ since I live to dance, but what if no one dances? What if we get down there and nothing is what I thought it would look like and I am disappointed? Everything will probably work out, but I am really starting to stress over it.

Confession 1: My parents want an AHR and I WAS on board with it. My FI is totally against it and thinks that our wedding is in Aruba and that should be it, but he is going along with the AHR for me. I did want a big AHR, but then the more my parents talked about it the more I want just a dinner. So I told them I want a dinner and NOT an AHR (no DJ, no cake, no photographer, just dinner in a restaurant). But EVERY SINGLE TIME I talk to or see my mother she tells me how everyone wants to see me in my wedding dress and I tell her then they should go to Aruba. Then she tells me they can’t go and I say then they will see me in the wedding video and she returns with “well we’ll see”. I am getting so angry about it that I am considering tell her that if she says this one more time I’m not going to the dinner. UHHHHHHH! Sorry, that turned into a vent instead of a confession.

Confession 2: I have been working my butt off to lose weight so I will not only be able to zipper up my dress but to look amazing at my wedding. So Saturday I was finally able to zipper up my dress (I couldn’t breathe though). So what do I do? I pig out on chinese food Sunday night I not workout all weekend. I feel like crap and I was the one responsible for getting the food. My FI tried his best to talk me out of it.

My confession is:

Im so frustrated at my family and some of my friends. My RSVP date was for yesterday and I have only received about 20 out of 90 rsvp cards back. I cant believe how lazy people really are!! Was it really that difficult to write your name and check the no box? Is your mailbox so far that its unthinkable for you to mail something out?? Seriously?? Now I have to go on a mission to call, text and email people to get an answer from them. To top it off, these are the same people that want us to have an AHR to accomodate them. Uh, I dont think so!! Why SHOULD I go out of my way to please you when you didnt even make an attempt to make it to the wedding and didnt even have the decency to mail back your rsvp? Sorry, you have the wrong girl!

Sorry ladies for venting. Its just so frustrating that my family sucks. On the brightside, Im 3 months away from starting my own family which is more important than stressing over people you didnt choose to be related to.

Thanks for listening! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
