His wife cheated on him and left after 1 year and was super materialistic. for their wedding, she requested his parents pay over 10 thousand dollars and they went on a honeymoon for like 14 days in St. Lucia.

Needless to say, his parents (mom specifically) absolutely love me. They are so thrilled that I'm nothing like her and she tells me all the time how thankful she is that I've turned his life around. But, when it came time for our wedding they offered nothing. his previous honeymoon was over 6K!! My parents are paying for everything (including our flights) and they refuse to give the $1900 for our little 5 day honeymoon, because of his previous marriage. They even told him it has nothing to do with money, and they know it's not my fault...but "it is what it is".

I know I shouldn't care- but for some reason I take it personally! Maybe it's because I've given my FI over 5K to pay off his debt (caused by his ex wife) and helped him get back on his feet. He's in the process of paying me back....but why is it that the super bitchy materialistic girl gets 10 thousand, and the girl who bails him out gets nothing!!!!

It's my "confession" because I know I sound spoiled and bitchy if I were to say anything to his parents, and i had to tell someone!!!!!
I get it. My FI was married before and had the big wedding and now his family isn't offering to pay for anything either (even though they can afford it). Sometimes I think they are just waiting for our relationship to fail too since FI had such a run of bad relationships in the past. Don't get me wrong I love his mom and she seems pretty fond of me but they aren't really a very emotional touchy feely family. My family isn't helping out either but actually can't afford to so its just us paying for everything.

Erin- that's so funny! Because to play that game you have to have a high end computer and/or graphics card so I bet he is pissed! I can totally relate because my ex played long before I ever started to and I would get so angry that I couldn't get him off the damn computer. Then I started playing... yay, nothing got done in our house.
Yeah, his other computer probably had $6K-$7K put into it.

He calls BDW World of BrideCraft! LOL

I love it! I think FI is very happy that I found BDW b/c I don't think I complain as much about his WoW.

I'm totally like you though, I do enjoy the "me" time when he is playing. We just put limitations on it. He can only raid on T & W nights and he can only play on weekends if we don't have anything planned but no night time playing. He would seriously be up until 3A all the time if he could.

Ok here is my confession: I absolutley hate the fact that my FH works with his family. It is a family owned business and they all work TOGETHER (his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister and employees). Here it is 7:30 and he is still not home. He left at seven this morning!!!! Additionally, we went over to his brothers house last night for dinner. UGGHHHHHH. I can't seem to get rid of them. His mom and sister are super snooty shopaholics and his brother seems to always have some type of insult to throw at me. After almost ten years, I am fed up with them. Glad to get that off my chest

unfortunately, if they are the kind of family that always does everything together, that is just not gonna change. my FIs family is like that, and sometimes i'm so happy to be a part of such a large, close-knit family, and others i'm like can't you all just leave us be? LOL.

insults from his family, however, are unacceptable and your FI needs to tell them as much. if he loves you, he won't stand for it.

My FIs family is kind of like that. His parents always want us to go over and are constantly calling, to the point that he doesn't even pick up the phone sometimes, because it annoys him too!

Insults from the brother - I'm right there with ya girl! My FIs brother doesn't get along with anyone, not even FI, so its really awkward anytime he is around!
