I confess that I think all brides that had their weddings cancelled should sue. Sue the media, the airlines, whoever. I think the stress and emotional damages should be highly rewarded.

On another note, I confess that I'm secretly thinking things that I shouldn't about my trip, things such as, wouldn't it be fun if the resort was empty and we got VIP treatment everywhere and fun discounts on scuba diving and such... Is this bad of me?

He probably figures if you guys need to, you can always get married at home or some small JOP thing (DH suggested this multiple times). Re: arguments, that sounds like us haha. I sit there and lose my shit and he just kind of shrugs it off, which of course only makes me crazier! haha

i mean, he's absolutely right in that there is really nothing we can do about this, and getting upset won't help, but geez, it's coming off like he could care less whether we got married at all! if nothing else, at least don't dismiss my feelings as me being "stupid" for getting all worked up over something i can't control. stfu.gif

in truth, he's kinda always like this. for instance, he thinks he actually "wins" arguments by keeping calm, cool, and collected while i scream and throw a fit. i always tell him, "just because i'm crazy doesn't mean i'm wrong!"
I'm with you both!!! I hate that Dh can brush off so much, especially when it's really important to me!!! He's completely fed up with how much I am obsessing with my pictures. Like he says, we can't get the day back, but I still want to obsess!!! LET ME BE BITTER AND JUST SHUT THE censored.gif UP!!!!

Oh sweetie I'm so sorry for you...and all the bride victims of the swine flu. Are there any big papers doing stories on brides who are cancelling their weddings due to this?? I haven't really been following the media about it. I think someone should make everyone aware the type of sacrifices people are having to make based on the media blowing this out of proportion.

That's too funny Tracy...but be careful you don't set yourself up for a disappointment. I know that you realize your thoughts will never become a reality, but if you keep thinking about them you could be disappointed!

Jax - That sounds really taste, I'll take one of those right now please! wink.gif

Amanda - My heart really goes out to you, if I thought my pictures were awful, I'd want to wallow in my own self-pitty and bitterness too! And I WOULD expect DH to understand damnit! It is a huge deal to any girl and to make you feel like you should let it go is silly. I would do a re-do photoshoot like you are thinking about doing. I would insist on it actually.

Tracy - haha that is an awesome idea! I hope you get the VIP treatment too so you can come back and tell us all about your amazing time in Mexico...take that media! wink.gif

Forgive me, but I can't comprehend why people are so paranoid about this swine flu, to the point of cancelling a vaca or even worse, their weddings. Thats as bad as having people pull out because of the drug cartels in Mexico kidnapping and murdering people. Pretty good chances that its not going to affect you or any of your guests. Theres some kind of flu epidemic every year. Just stay away from the livestock and wash your hands regularly. And for safety sake, stay along the well beaten tourist path.

You said it! I completely agree! There is always going to be 'something'. The swine flu just happens to be what the media decided to focus on this month!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
