So andrea, my suggestion is that you do a photoshoot back here in MN this summer.... or on your year anniv set up a TTD. I know some people that did that and are sooo glad they did. Just an idea:-)

That is so sweet of you to offer to help! I'm just not even sure what pictures to start with honestly. But I just make take you up on it someday. Thank you!!!

I confess...

 

#1) I am drunk. Boxed wine is dangerous (and maybe a lil' tacky) cause it never ends

 

#2) I head that BIL might lose his job. Now there is a BIG backstory with him. Basically, he ended up being the golden child within DH's family. The lot of them were completely unsupportive of our wedding, etc.yet couldn't do enough for him & his future bride. I had to take a few minutes of glee in the fact that they might finally have a bump in the road.

 

#3) Now I feel really guilty about #2

I confess- that I HATE my BD pics and am very sad. I jumped on the band wagon of a group shoot with a not so experienced photographer in my opinion. I only paid $250 with crappy hair and makeup included plus the rental of car cause it wasn't in the city. I am just super bummed because this was a big deal for me.

 

I have struggled with my self image and body issues my whole life and have come to a healthier place but seeing this horrible lighting, non artistic shots, and bad makeup (which i didn't correct becuase I didn't bring any of my own makeup!!) has thrown me for a loop. I feel horrible. I was hoping the experience would be liberating, fun and empowering and it wasn't. Now that I see the pics i am a bit depressed. They look trashy and not good. I am supposed to pick 30 that i like but can only find about 6.

 

I am considering forking out the dough for another shoot with a more experienced photographer -even though i don't have it at all- ugh..

I have two FSIL and one PISSES me OFF SO MUCH!! She is my FH's half sister but she is so LAZY she has two beautiful kids but is always thinking about herself and only herself but tells herself that she is a great mom which is probably is in her own way...but she doesn't take pride in her child. She does give her baths regularly or I buy her really nice clothes and she lets her wear clothes that DON'T FIT!! She is ALWAYS on the prowl for a guy and that irrates me, focus on yourself and your kids get a job to support them, don't sleep with them on the first date etc. Uggg...I could go on but I am sure I have said enough and noone wants to hear this...lol.

Oh no!! That sucks!!!
Having pictures that you are not happy with is the worst!!
Is there anyway you can have them photoshopped?? I dont' really know anything about it, but maybe someone could tone down the makeup, etc to make them look less trashy.
I hope you find a solution!! And one that doesn't have to break the bank!

Oh no Yamille! I totally understand about body issues. I didn't have BD pics done because I couldn't bear the thought of looking at my fat ass!

 

I would think about doing another shoot, if not before the wedding then maybe as an anniversary present. Your first is paper, so there you go! It would give you time to save up and really shop around for a photog you are comfortable with.

 

Have you told the photographer you are unhappy? Is there any way you could get a full or partial refund?

Erin- First of all Box wine is not tacky it is the best thing since fried chicken second, don't feel guilty. I am sure they will be fine. Sometimes people need bumps in the road to appreciate life.... that is my excuse anyway
