My confession is I had entirely too much wine this weekend....Thursday...Friday (skipped Saturday as apparently I become a mean wino to FI after getting home from a party on Friday night...can't remember a THING after leaving the party but FI says I was calling him a DoucheBag and an A$$-Hole..I don't seem to recall that......so....that would be confession #2) and Sunday....

Think it's time for a wine break....

I had a feeling from the beginning that she would find a way out of this. She was married last year and I did everything - planned the shower, hosted the bachelorette at my home, paid over $4000 to go to her wedding plus paid for dress, hair, everything. She didn't even get the BM's a thank you gift and I never got a thank you in person - just the thank you card for the shower/wedding gifts. Now it's finally my turn and I just feel so let down. She said she still wants to help with everything but I know that's not going to happen. Also I don't know what to do about asking someone else because they will know that they were second choice since I already announced my wedding party. And I can't ask anyone until she announces the pregnancy because I'm the only one who knows and I don't want to give it away. She doesn't want to say anything for 3 months! So that leaves 3 months until my wedding.

Sorry for the long rant. Part of me feels like a terrible friend for not just being 100% supportive and happy for her. But part of me is so tired of always being the great friend to everyone else and not getting anything in return.

Oh hell no! :)  You should not sit for 3 months and not get a new BM.  If you have a second BM, I would just bump her to MOH and if anyone asks why, just say, well it appears that MOH won't make it.  Explain to the BM that you recognize that you initially picked the other gal, but don't want her to feel weird about being asked 2nd, because you care about her as much...etc.

Ashley, I am 100% in the same boat.  I'm so sad/happy to hear that someone else can relate to this situation.  My MOH also will not be attending my wedding, as she is now pregnant.  While this is great news for her, my confession is that I secretly wonder if it is true or just an excuse to get out of the wedding?  How sad is that?!?  The thing is she doesn't talk about the pregnancy at all (even when its just the two of us), and always quickly changes the topic when it is brought up.  At a recent function, I confess that I even watched to see if she drank any alcohol (she didn't).  I too was the friend that has been there to support her through everything, but have not remotely received the same in return.

In the end, it has been a blessing in disguise, as I now have the MOH I should have had in the first place....some who is excited to have been chosen for MOH and is very excited for the wedding and her friend.  Hopefully you will find the same results too!

I'm so glad you were able to find a new MOH that is happy and excited for you. I also picked a new MOH (decided not to wait until she announces her pregnancy, I just made an excuse why she can't come). I also decided against bumping up my second bridesmaid to MOH, because she is FI's sister and we aren't all that close. Anyway I decided to ask my Aunt. She's just a few years older than me and more like a sister, she even bought my wedding dress! I'm so happy that she will be my MOH, so I guess it all worked out in the end.

Wow Ashley our stories really are similar!  I also asked my Aunt to be MOH.  She is the baby of the family (my mother is the oldest) and just a couple of years older than I am and we have been close since I was a baby.  Your situation and mine with the MOH are just way too similar!  Very glad to hear that your MOH is now the perfect person and one less thing for you to worry about with wedding planning. :)

I have to confess that we're holding off doing the deed until the wedding (only about 3 months) and I'm going CRAZY. FI doesn't even seem to mind, and that is what is making me nuts. UGH. I'm being a baby about it but it's not like we sat down and talked about it, he just decided one day that we should stop for a while. I understand why, but it's just really p*ssing me off. Sorry to go off, I needed to get that off my chest.

i confess... i was headed to bed an hour and a half ago and just discovered the "Ladies Lounge" part of this site (not sure how i NEVER saw it before) but anyways ive been hooked reading all these confessions from page 1!

#2 I have like no sex drive anymore and never want to have sex with FI. We used to have plenty of fun up until i had my daughter and now im convinced my labido is laying on the hospital room floor from when i gave birth... i feel terrible that i'm never in the mood and sometimes will have sex just to be a good FI but i hate every minute of it....well maybe except for a few minutes of it msnwink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
