When me and my FI were together for the first few monnths of dating, I cheated on him. Was it cheating if you ahven't had the inclusive talk? I feel like it, and he has never known and we've been together for 7 years.

His family drives me crazy. I can barely stand them. His dad is sexist, his sister is lazy and a HORRIBLE mother, and his niece is the brattiest brat in the world I want to strangle her every time I talk to her.

How could such a bad family have such a wonderful son? I'm lucky to have met him.

OH and I understand about nobody coming to your wedding. We are having my parents, muy FI's parents and tahts it. My own sisters aren't coming, my best friends, nobody. And my sister was planning a destination wedding a few years back before she practically left him at the alter, the whole flipping family was going to go. And I've been with my FI for 7 years, and nobody cares to comE? Am I that unimportant to you?

Im shelling out 1500 for my BFF"s wedding as her MOH and she can't even come to my own wedding, when she had two years advance notice?

She actually got MAD at me when I told her I wanted to get married in Jamaica and called me selfish.

So now I'm forced to have a AHR too beacuse nobody is coming to my wedding. And secretly I don't even want to have one just to say screw you to the people that dn't care. F it makes me mad!!!!

Man that sucks! If you can't afford a different one, I say get your hair done (trial run for your wedding day), get your makeup done (exactly how you'll do it for your wedding day), and then put it all together with the dress, shoes and jewellry. I've heard other brides say the same thing but when they put it all together, they felt AMAZING. Try it. I hope you change your mind!

Thanks Girl! I'm actually excited for an AHR now. The wedding day goes by so fast I think it's great to be able to do it again! I think I had food poisoning. Been to the DR many times (at resorts as well as at local's houses) and never got sick. It's been 8 months, so luckily the the angry/frustrated feelings of having it not go as planned are pretty much gone now. I can't let it affect my life. What's done is done and I can't waste time on the past. Plus, I'm excited for my future!

in a few years, it will be a good story to tell, especially if you have the AHR and get to do all the special stuff. Sorry your day was spent in your room sad.gif shitty, i know.
Shitty (literally haha!) My whole wedding week was a screwy one, but like you said, it makes for good story telling!
  1. First our flight was cancelled and we left the following day (spent 24 hours in Toronto) so we were getting shorted by one day of the Majestic
  2. then I was sick on the wedding day and missed the bonding time between my husbands Dominican family and my Canadian family, the dinner and reception
  3. then I paid $400 for a beach reception when my guests only got to spend about 20 minutes there before the rain
  4. I was still sick the following day so I didn't get to enjoy the breakfast in bed or romantic dinner on the beach for just us two
  5. then it took 4 months to get our marriage certificate (delaying my husbands VISA to live with me here in Canada)
  6. then Haiti had the earthquake (which is where our VISA application was supposed to be sent

So I "confess" that it doesn't even feel like I'm married and I hate it.

Ya, it sucks. I had mom, dad, brother, 1 BF, and my dads cousin & wife. But I can't expect anything else. I knew hardly no one would come but deep down I was crying. I just wanted them all there.

Kelly, that's admirable, you do have a great attitude about it and you're still doing an AHR with everyone there, you'll feel married after that no doubt!

I confess, even though everyone knows already, my wedding day and wedding was May 8th 2010, but I'm not legally married (due to the stupid Mexico law requiring blood tests to get legally married there, me being deathy afraid of needles and all) so we're going to Vegas this weekend with 30 people to do the legal wedding. This is no secret but I really feel NO need to get legally married. I feel blissful and married and I feel like a wife and everything is so very newlywed I love it.

I say screw the man! Why does paperwork on my love life need to be filed away in order for it to be recognized?

Anywho, still doing it though, it's important to DH so it's important to me... besides Vegas makes it alllll better!

hahahaha....We do have DQ here, However, this cake is from Carvel, and yes it had the Chocolate crunchy center.....It was SOOOOOOOO Good...!! cheer2.gif

Amy, I agree with you 100%!!! Why does the piece of paper even matter

My confession: I would have been perfectly happy never being married. Me & J would still be together & would do everything we are doing now.
HOWEVER, once that ring was on the finger, I was in instant wedding planning mode and I wouldn't have changed my DW for the world!

This is the closest i could find to the style of the dress just in a diff color ^^

and the material almost looks like this, the color is similar as well...

Hopefully you guys can understand why im soo stressed about it...with the color and the material it would be very noticealbe...and ther reason we chose such a tight and bright dress is because the 3 of the BMs all have hott bodies and they look amazing in the dresses...AT THE TIME lol and now its like, lets add more stress haha
Personally, I would always try to look good in anyone's pictures, but you cannot force these other girls to lose or watch their weight.

All I can say is that the worse they look, the better you will look. You have to try to find the up side of these things.

I confess:

We have recently decided to get married before we leave to Jamaica...just makes sense. My FI is currently unemployed and just lost his Cobra. He's got health issues and I really don't want him to be without insurance, especially while away in another country. My soon to be sister in law is marrying us. I'm so excited. We, no I asked her not to tell anyone...you know people get stupid about going so far for a symbolic ceremony. But, I guess she "accidently" let her mom know. Now I have to have my soon to be MIL and I WILL have to ask my mom who has diarrhea of the mouth. It was just to be my MOH, best man and Minister. Not even rings. I just wanted it to be legal, I'm not even considering it my wedding day! Damn it!

Thank you so much for saying this! I really felt alone in this feeling. I told DH that legalities, opinions etc. will never matter, I'm his wife and that's it, I even told him we really didn't need to make it legal etc. He's quite old fashioned and wouldn't have anything of it. I feel the same, I would never feel like anything is missing or there wasn't the same.
Once getting married and having our DW, our relationship did jump into a new eschelon, it's even better now, strange!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
