Corset or cups???

Okay ladies I go to get my first alterations in March. I am having a bit of a delima. I am not sure if i want to get a Corset or have bra cups put in? The lady told me i am to busty to get cups put in but I am not sure if i want to be getting married in July in mexico with a tight a** thing on..

 

Any suggestions

Hmmm... I am not sure what you should do. I think in the meantime try out both with your dress. Does the bridal salon or seamstress have a corset or stick on cups (like Nu Bra) you could try on with your dress? I think you should try cups and see how it looks. Obviously if it looks bad then you should try and find a corset that is made of lightweight breathable material.

I bought my dress at David's Bridal, and they sell the best bra in the world for a strapless dress. It was like $70, but so worth it. It dips low in the back, (it's the kind that covers your sides and tummy too) and the cups hold you up and together, and it is so seamless, you can't see it thru the dress at all. Also it has light boning, so it stays up with no tugging or anything, but tons of support. I don't know if you have a DB nearby but you should check it out.

I'm getting cups put in my dress and i'm a DD. Try with 1 set of cups then 2 sets of cups...to see the difference. i know it sounds crazy but if you have a large chest what the hell is one set going to do? plas who wants to wear a corset when it's totally hot

Not to get personal but what size are ya, cuz like "indecisive bride to be" I am a DD and for my first marriage I had to use the corset and plan to again. It really helped me feel sucked in better too! Ha!

I'd say explore your options...but also listen to your seamstress. Esp if she's good and has a lot of experience. I'm a big fan of the cups so I say go with that if you can. BUT if the seamstress really doesn't think it will work then it might be good to take her advice...some of those ladies have been doing this stuff for years and have great advice! :-)

Ok hold on. What's 2 sets of cups? They double layer them? My dress is so big in the top and my seamstress (who I think is actually kind of difficult) just insisted on tightening my corset so there wasn't any space between the loops. That not only made it so I couldn't breathe, but it created freaking fat in my back. Hello I'd rather have everyone look down my top then have fat in my back. At least I think I would. haha

I go in for my 2nd fitting today. Hopefully I can get this figured out and if I have to double up my cups I'm totally for it.

This is the bustier I got from Victoria's Secret. It was $70 but I had a coupon and a gift certificate so it was free!

 

I like the coverage and fit, plus the smooth lines don't show and keep me sucked in.

I am a 36 D which suprised the hell out of me. I have lost 60 lbs abut not much in my cheast.. darn! I feel that without the corset i don't have as much 'extra boob" haha you know what I mean. I might have to try that Bustier. I go my dress from davids and i wasn't a fan of theres but she also had me on one cup size too small.. so.. maybe taht was the reason. I will talk to the lady but they told me to have my bra and shoes with me. I ordered my shoes today from VS and i am a little nervous they are too tall but i dont want to be charged for the alterations on the length.. i heard those are the ones that are priciey..

 

so do you think that they will be upset if i do not have a corset.. and if she says i have to have one i can always use theres as a guide.. right?

I'm small busted, but I have a Flattering Me bustier for my dress. They are like $70-$90 at bridal stores, but I got a brand new w/ tags one on eBay for $24.99 and I love it.

 

The seamstress at David's Bridal even asked about it -- saying she had never seen one but loved it.

 

It works better for me than the ones offered at David Bridal b/c the boning in the DB bustiers was still slightly visibly through my dress.
