So What do you do for a living?

My mom and I own our own catering/event company. I've done it all...wedding planning, office work, janitorial work, etc. When you own your own business if it has to get done, you are usually the one who does it.

I'm mainly in the office now, hence my BDW obsession. I do still cook and "rent myself" out to do in home cooking classes, mixology and personal chef work.

Most of my clients are corporate, though I do have the contract with 4 private airports to do all personal aviation catering. I also work with clients with special dietary needs, especially if it is a new diagnosis. I show or prepare meals for diabetic, bariatric, gluten-free, etc. patients.

I graduated college with BAs in French and Poli Sci thinking I would be a jet-setting international philantropic grand poo-bah activist type person. I worked really hard on the 2000 and 2004 campaigns and got really burned out when my side lost. Both of my parents were chefs so I just kinda ran out of money and needed somethng to do. Here I am 3 years later with no formal training!

I love it too. It can be hard at times but its nice to work on metal stuff and just get away from everyday life. Its kind of like I am just playing and building stuff so I have a lot of fun doind it.

Congrats on the new job. I hope it works out for you.

I am a Wellness Center Manager in Corporate Fitness. Basically I work with Anthem (yes, the insurance) employees here in their office buildings. We have fitness facilities in house for them and they come to work out on their lunch breaks, before work, after work, whenever! I teach group fitness classes, personal train, exercise prescriptions, fitness assessments, etc...great job!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
