Group Rate Costs

Recommended Posts

Rates are generally a little bit more expensive this far out as well so depending on how long you wait you might get a better deal. You cannot get a flight confirmated until 330 days from the date of the trip, only an estimate which may be why the costs are so high.

We got a great rate for the Paradisus for 1645 plus tax out of Toronto and our Ottawa guests can take advantage for only $40 more (which basically gets them to Toronto!) We have a rate for Calgary as well as FI's family is coming from there...

We used a travel agent in Toronto. Initially we paid a deposit for 10 people but I think we are up to 28 on the package with two on the waiting list. The basic package, double occupancy, 7 nights, all inclusive, May 2008departure out of Toronto for a one week stay is $1380taxes included, for the Riu Vallarta.

Katie & Chris were trying to keep it under $1500 per person.

I would never give any travel agent a deposit. They already take a cut off of each trip they book, so why should you give them addditional money? Also, what if you don't like the quotes they've given you or the service they provided? There are plenty of other TA's out there that would welcome your business without charging you.

If your quotes are too high ... consider fewer days. We gave our guests the minimum 3-night prices for PPC ... and then how much it would be to add on per night should they want to stay longer.

Your price quotes are all within reason.

For PPC, our double occupancy rate for 3-nights was $559/pp ... plus $179/pp for each additional night. This does NOT include airfare -- which would make it $1275/pp for 7-nights, plus airafre, which has ranged from $200-$700 depending on when our guests booked it.

Canadians all inclusive rate includes flight, transfers, room and meals/drinks and taxes for seven days. We rarely pay them seperately and then there is the option to add a couple of days or another week.

I think I mentioned to you in another post that I recieved a quote for the Riu Bachata in Puerto Plata Jan 09 and the rate I got was $1400 after taxes.

One agent told me you can possibly save up to $500/couple by flying out of TO.

I am still looking for a TA in Ottawa and would never give a deposit to anyone until I was ready to book!

That's good to know. I didn't realize it was that much cheaper to fly out of T.O. rather than Ottawa. That may be something we can look into too.

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
