Personalizing your Wedding Ceremony

Recommended Posts

I just went to a wedding where the couple did a ring warming. At the very beginning of the ceremony the minister took the couple's rings and handed them to the guests and asked everyone to say a little silent blessing for the couple and then pass the rings on. The guests kept passing it on during all of the reading etc and they finished just as it was time to say the vows. Of course it would only work with a smaller guest attendance. The one I went to, she had about 90 guests and it worked.

i think that the rose idea is awesome... there def are times when i cant speak cuase im so fustrated with my FI, so i think that the rose ceremony will be truly symbolic for us... as for the sand ceremony, we will be doing ours during the reception, we want every guest to put sand into the vase and say a little something about the happy couple [that's me, lol] we are having about 30 people... all very close friends

We're having a hand ceremony because I think the sand ceremony is just way too overdone...sorry, but just my .02. I wanted a ring warming but was paranoid about some guest dropping the rings in the sand on the beach...ugh. I'd freak if that happened.

Another way we are personalizing our wedding is having our welcome dinner at a French restaurant in Playa del Carmen and handing out Eiffel Tower keychains as a favor. FI and I met in Paris on a blind date so dinner at a French restaurant fits! :) We're also putting travel candles in our OOT bags...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
