i just loved this idea! one of my close friends from college got married 2 years ago on the beach in the outer banks and it was a beautiful wedding. they did something that i thought was soooo cute. each guest had a shell on their seat and were asked to make a wish with the shell and once the ceremony was over they walked out and threw all the shells into the ocean.

since i am a photographer and she is a great friend i shot their wedding, and i got the best shot of them throwing the shells into the ocean, i promise i'll find it and post it.

they also did something else so cute. once the ceremony was over, instead of walking back down the aisle they walked out to the waves and along the water....it made for great pictures....a little untraditional but i looked great!

There is something like this where you throw rocks instead. If you search the forum you can even find the little reading that goes with it.

I was looking for something to incorporate the ocean into my wedding as well. Something where you threw something into it....i like the wishing shell thing. Thanks!!!

Cute idea! Who would have ever guessed there were so many mini-ceremony things to encorporate into a beach wedding! Adding it to the list of things to choose from... thanks! :)

Another great idea would be to put the shells in a jar for the couple. I know a few girls had a marker for guests to write their well wishes.

These are both great and cute ideas.

I look forward to seeing the pic.
