Got my raffia fans

Recommended Posts

I ordered my raffia fans from Wholesale Wedding Supplies, Discount Wedding Favors, Party Favors, and Bulk Event Supplies

They were 50 cents each... Shipping and tax came out to about an additional $10(I ordered 4 dozen). They arrived via Fed Ex within a few days. Quality-wise, there are probably better ones out there, but for 50 cents I'm not complaining!

I am thinking about tying a fake orchid with satin ribbon to each one, or attaching our wedding programs to the handle using ribbon.

The bright pink orchids are from Michaels and are better quality. They almost feel like rubber. The purple ones are silk and are from Hobby Lobby. Both were 50% off so they were about $2.50 per stem.

I think they look great. Regarding the quality, I would think they are hand made with the intricate weaving so they will not all be perfect. I got a dozen from Oriental Trading too and they look good to me, much bigger than I expected. Since I got these just for the men, I must resist the urge to girlify them with ribbons and flowers, but I do love the way they look with punches of color.

Yep, satin ribbon size 5/8. I'm using glue dots to secure the ribbon- hobby lobby and michaels sell these in the scrapbooking section. I always burn myself with a glue gun so these are perfect for me. And they don't leave those glue strings.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
