Which designer is that dress by? I think I may have seen one similar when Monica and I were out shopping over the weekend. Also, what's your price range for the BM dresses?

AND I notice you're from Dallas! I live quite near Dallas and would be happy to reccomend some shops that I liked when planning my wedding...what area are you in?

Hi Rachelle--
I'm in Plano. I don't remember too much about the dress except it was in "The Knot" magazine for the winter issue. If I remember correctly on how they categorized the dress, it was over $1500. I've found a couple of similar styles, but they never wind up being in the color I want (teal/turquoise). If you have recommendations for gown/dress shops, I'm all ears!! :)

I'd probably want to stay somewhere in the $150-ish range, just because I know that my MOH is shelling out big bucks on her own 25th wedding anniversary this year and wasn't even sure they'd be able to make it to the wedding until just recently. So I'm trying to keep the cost down as much as possible.

OMG! I can't believe you're from Plano! I work in Plano! How fun!

Ok, I absolutely loved the store I bought my wedding dress at and the BM's got their dresses there too. It's kinda' far but it's great, the service is great and I found most things there to be reasonable and close to my price range. (my dress was about $850 and the BM's dresses were about $165-ish) The store is called Lulu's Bridal Boutique and it's in Dallas off Routh St.

StarDust Celebrations

The designer for my BM dresses was Bill Levkoff. I thought they had some cute dresses and there's a link to their site on the Lulu's site. A big perk about purchasing from Lulu's (esp if you get your dress there) is that you can have the alterations done at the Stardust store location in Plano (Park & the Tollway). In fact, Stardust is a great store but definitely more pricey...although I did get some little stuff there...they ordered my shoes for me and I bought my garter there etc.

As far as other dress designers go, the dress I'm wearing for my friend's wedding is from Watters...the Wtoo line. Those seem to be a little less expensive and there are sites online you can order the dresses from that are much less expensive. This is the site Monica reccomended to me - I'll probably order my dress from them...although I was going to search the forum first to see if anyone has ordered from them/heard anything about them!

House of Brides

Ok this is getting SUPER long...sorry ladies! blush2.gif

Mikki, I'll pm you if I remember any other helpful bits!

Hey everyone! JCrew.com is having an extra 20% off all their clearance right now. They have some really beautiful bridesmaid dresses. I got the Sophia short dress in the color 'quartz' a few months ago for about $60 and my bridesmaids loved them!

Hi ladies, I posted this along w/the pics from my fitting today, but thought I should post it properly too. Here's my MOH in her dress. The top still needs to be taken in, but you get the idea. It is such a pretty dress..I wish I could capture the softness & flowiness of the fabric in a picture, but Juan Carlos I am not! The dress is by Forever Yours style #76208 in aqua. We got it for less than $100 from Wedding Dresses, Prom Dresses, Wedding Accessories at BestBridalPrices.com

Did you try this dress on somewhere before you ordered them or did you just trust they would fit right? I'd really like to order from a website like this, but I'm afraid I won't like them.

Nope - just ordered it. I did use their size chart to determine the proper size for my ever shrinking MOH! She argued with me over this, insisting I order size 8 - I ordered a 6 & we still have to take in the top!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
