Anguilla has the most beautiful beaches I have EVER seen! My favorite beach in the entire world is Shoal Bay (followed a close second by the beaches at Nungwi on Zanzibar).

Shoal Bay Beach sort of has two coves so I'll try to post pictures of both. One side of the cove is shorter, but much quieter. There are far fewer hotels, but there's one great BBQ restaurant right on the beach called Gwen's Reggea Cafe.

This side of the beach has more hotels and restaurants (which you can't see b/c of the photo angle) but is still really quiet compared to your typical vacation spot. If you decide to spend the day here, have lunch at this place called Uncle Ernie's...it's the best hamburgers!

The last photo is Prickly Pear Island which is easily accessible right off shoar if you pay to go out by taxi - most have glass bottoms so it's a really fun ride. It's so pretty and definitely worth it! There's great snorkling too!

As you can tell I am totally biased about this place being the best in the world! I've been there about 6 or 7 times now (once my parents find a place they like they don't try a new thing for another decade so I've visited them there a lot) so if you have any questions that I might be able to answer please feel free to PM me. I don't think this will be our "official" honeymoon location, but I'm trying to plan it so that we go down there for our 1 year anniversay since my FI has never been!

I loved the beaches in Jamaica, I know everyone talks about how beautiful Punta Cana beaches are but I found them too crowded. The best beach was in panama at night and it was so dark since there was only the one hotel, we would walk and all you would see was the phosphorus in the sand it was so beautiful like fireflies dancing at your feet. The beach was deserted, and long you could walk for miles on this long white stretch, it made us feel like we were the only one's in the world, so wonderful and romantic.

It's one of the most beautiful places ever.. IMO. The village I am from is right on the water so it's great to vacation there.

Here's a link to pics this guy took of my town.. it's fairly undiscovered with crowds and crowds of tourists.. BUT recently it was featured on House Hunters International where the couple actually bought an apartment directly in front of my uncle's house lol

  • 4 weeks later...

Hands down the winner here would be Karon beach in Phuket Thailand. Also Ko Phi Phi island off of Phuket as well.

By far our favorite place on the planet! We just shot there a few months ago and plan to go back next year for another Wedding. Hopefully more!

Thing about it is, its not just the water, but the whole vibe and the peacefulness of the beach.

Thailand RULES.

Next favorite place was a little place South of Puerto Vallarta called El Careyes. We shot a Wedding at the El Carese resort which is a Starwood property and simply AMAZING. They have a private cove which was freakin amazing!

Tons of faves but those 2 spring to mind.

cheers,

Gino and Heather

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
