This was less than a year after the earthquake/tsunami.... The locals told us how the tsunami had totally stole half of the islands vegetation... However we thought it was beautiful.

We liked it because it was NEVER EVER crowded. I think I paid 400 for about 4 days.

jamy - there is this beautiful, remote place in the Bahamas on one of the outer islands called Kamalame Cay - we were going to get married there but the buy out cost was INSANE and we just couldn't pull it off... here is the site Kamalame Cay - Private Island Resort Bahamas Holiday Andros Island Gourmet Caribbean Cusine Fly Fishing Diving OMG the beach is amazing!

some of the best sand is in the DR. i loved that sand. it is very finely ground white corral so it stays cool in the hot sun and soft on your feet. but i thought the beaches were nicer in the MR (the sand there is a little coarser but the water was clearer making for a lot nicer snorkling. the waters in hawaii though are such a gorgeous royal blue. i loved the colors but made for a little merkier snorkling and the water is super salty there for some reason.

Alyssa that place is stunning!!! I bet the buyout was ridiculous for a spot like that! Do you have any pics to share? Just gorgeous!

I fell in love with the beach at Mamee Bay/Ocho Rios. Water temp and color is perfect, we spent days just bobbing around in the sea. DH took these pictures:

Don't mind the chain-smoking Spaniards to the right...lol

Jean-marcus is MR Mayan Riviera? Lanikai in Hawaii is one of my favorite beaches ever, warm, clear water with powdered sugar soft sand. I have pics but that was before I had a digital cam and I never scanned them onto disc. Here is a picture of Lanikai I ripped from the internet:

I loved the beaches in Negril, Jamaica. Also the beaches in the Philippines (Boracay and especially Palawan) are pretty spectacular too. The colored beaches in Greece are beautiful, but rocky.

I love beaches that are clean, un-comercialized, quiet w/ powder soft sand. But there are times when I'm in the mood for a beach party...has anybody been to Paradise Beach in Mykonos, Greece...it's pretty nuts!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
