Bikini Wax?

Carly, if you can't find someone who regularly has/uses hard wax then I would stay with hot/strip waxing. I had one person use hard wax and made me cry, when another aesthetician came in she asked if she could try it, it was much better.

The perk to hard wax is the same area can be re-applied if good depillation (?sp) didn't occur. If you keep reapplying hot wax to the same area, it will become more sensitive (and red/irritated the next day). This is what I was told anyway, I'm not an expert.

My aesthetician uses both types for bikini/brazilian waxes.

Just finished reading this thread from start to finish, too funny!

I've been getting brazillians for 6 years now, and they still hurt me like a MOFO!! I don't think it gets any easier, but it's SOOOOOOOOOOO worth the pain! Smooth like a baby's butt, no shaving, looks sexy and feels great for you and him wink.gif

My girl has got me putting egg whites on the area before bed the night of the wax. It's suppose to tighten up the pores etc. I noticed if i didn't do it, the redness and bumps were worse, so there's something to it.. start to exfoliate and moisturize a few days after the wax to reduce ingrowns

Tip: help her keep the skin tight by pulling on your tummy or thigh

Ok i am SO not ready for a Brazilian, but I hear that it is better for certain (ahem) experiences wink.gif

Maybe I will do the regular and work my way up to Brazilian by the big day! I will try the egg white thing, and I also heard taking Ibuprofen beforehand helps too

I'm not really sure that anything can help! I took ibuprophren AND a half a percoset and I cried like a damn baby. But it was worth it and I'll be going for my second in a few weeks.

But I AM going to try that egg white thing anyway! Cuz I'll try anything to make it less painful.

I don't mean to scare you off, b/c it was def worth it and I'll be going back, I just think you should be prepared!

Oh, I think it was mentioned alredy too, but you don't want to go right around your period b/c your more sensitive then and it hurts more. I know this is true b/c I once got my eyebrows waxed like 2 days before my period and it hurt way worse then normal, my eyes swelled up and evrything. It was the woman who always does then, so I know it wasn't anything she did, but she mentioned about my cycle and don't you know, she was right!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
