Bikini Wax?

Recommended Posts

The first time I had a bikini wax, I not only screamed, I seriously considered leaving with only the the first strip ripped off! But I toughed it out and didn't return for one of those for years.

The waxer is a big part of how painful it is or isn't. I found someone who does a lot of waxing, and she is the least painful of all of them. But its never not been painful- for me anyway.

I like to wear a dress, an old simple throw on dress so that my 'area' can not have to rub against any clothing, and also the sweat dries.

I always thought they should serve a glass of wine or beer before you go in for that, just to take the edge off.

Maybe I have a high threshold for pain?! lol

There is no feeling quite like a freshly waxed bikini area! I love, love, love it! It feels so soft and clean! I've had them regularly and went to Australia a few years back. I hadn't had time to wax before going and so had to find a place over there, before donning a bikini.

I let the girl get on with it... and imagine my surprise when I discovered just before she finished, that she had taken the lot off! I was mortified! But got over it! lol

Now, I usually leave a little 'landing strip' but get the rest (to mean ALL of the rest) off! You get over the hurdle somehow, of having your arse up in the air while they do what they have to do! And they are professionals. They do this all the time.

And paper knickers? Some places will supply them. Some won't. I guess it depends on your comfort level.

I once had an Irish girl comment on my manicure! (This, whilst I was 'assisting her' in holding my buttocks!) Looking back, it's a great story but was super embarassing at the time.

You won't regret having it done. Actually, you'll probably never stop having them done! Good luck!

OK ladies...I finally did it! She took it all off and I think I'm going to love it. The actual process was not bad, my lady was wonderful. She talked to me the whole time so I wouldn't get nervous and started with the side areas around the bikini line so in case I decided I couldn't go on, at least I'd have the sides done, and it wasn't even that painful. So, when I get finished, I'm thinking wow, that was it, that was nothing. Oh, no, when I wake up the next day, it was awful! I'm talking it was so red and swolen and hurt so bad. It looked like a bad razor burn. Did anyone else experience that? My lady told me its always worse the first time and each time gets better cause you have damaged the hair follicle. It has taken about 4 days to go down and still isn't all the way back to normal. I didn't mind the waxing, but if it is going to get this inflamed everytime after, I don't think it is worth it!

Wow, that stinks! I have never had that type of reaction. You should call the place and ask if this is okay.

It is the best way to go. I have been doing it for so many years that the hair doesn't really grow back in those areas. I will say that I have only gone brazilian once and that was extremely painful. Just make sure you go to someone good & make sure they pull your skin taught when they pull.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
