Bikini Wax?

I've only recently started getting Brazilian waxes, ( about a year) I thought they'd be super painful, but it wasn't that bad really. If you're used to getting leg waxes or facial waxes, its not much worse in my opinion. I think its just mind over matter. If you convince yourself its going to be painful it will be. Also its also awkward, having someone wax your cooch.

My childhood best friend is a beauty therapist, and she does my waxes for me in her house. ( she runs a salon from home). She recommends trimming the hair down there beforehand, as it reduces the tug on the skin. Also don't get waxing done a week before your period is due, you are more sensitive, and it'll be more painful.

I am debating this. I have 6 months until my wedding and I would like to try it a couple of times before then. I make myself sick to my stomach just thinking about it. Never had it done but heard they were very painful. I have to book an appointment soon and just suck it up and get er done.

It's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be... First time is not great (lol) but then so long as you keep it up, it's relatively painless.

Great thread! I have never had ANYTHING waxed! But I defiantly would like to before I head to Mexico. I think I could deal with the pain…but i didn't even see a gynecologist until I was 22! (I am very conservative with my lady parts…thats for my man and no one else!). It is strange…because I am a nurse and have seen more private parts than a hooker…but that doesn't mean people get to see mine! This is my reasoning for procrastinating getting a bikini wax!

@kcole123 Waxing does hurt.....I gave up waxing last year for laser hair removal. Best investment I ever made. Started with my mustache and 5pm shadow (I'm a hairy babe!) then moved on to my WHOHAA! I love it! No bumps, no pain, just beauty!

I had a tattoo removed and it was worse than child birth. Wonder how that type of laser compares. There is always groupons. I would consider it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
