Bikini Wax?

Spazz

OMG Reading all of these is scaring me SILLY! I have been debating this for YEARS. Only a few of my friends get these done regularly and they tell me it hurts beyond belief. Mind you, hwen I was 15 I got my lip pierced, so I know pain. However, as a 28 year old adult now...I just can't imagine omg...I can't ESPECIALLY after reading all of your stories!

The thing that is making me lean more towards it is, it seems like it would be SO MUCH EASIER not to have to shave every other day and for it just to be smooth....how nice would that be. UGHHH Dilemmas!

Ok, I practically ran right here after my wax this morning. I warned the waxer about how bad last time was and how I cried like a baby. She was like "then why are you doing this to yourself!?" Hhahhahaaa, good question, right? But it was so far from my last experience that I can't even believe it. My eyes didn't even tear up. Ok, maybe they teared up on a strip or two, but never enough that any were forced out. Maybe it helped that we talked the whole way, but I think it had more to do with technique. She had me pull my skin, like said on this thread which the other person didn't. She also used baby powder and stuff in the middle, like she treated it as she went so once she ripped it it didn't hurt so bad. Honestly, I wasn't looking at what she was doing, so I don't know exactly what she did differently, but it was so not bad that I already made my appt for 4 weeks. Oh and she also told me that my hair was a bit too long and it would be more painful and it really wasn't! AND I'm supposed to get AF today, which is supposed to be a more painful time, but this was seriously worlds away from last time. I'm tempted to call the other place and complain, but it's like 3 months later now...

Anyway, my point is, my second time was MUCH better then my first. I'm thinking it has alot to do with the person doing the waxing. So if you have a horrible time (like I did!) go somewhere else!!

This is so funny how i found this thread- the day after my first bikini wax! Ladies, it HURT! 1st the girl who did it for me was GREAT, and was super talkative, trying to ease my mind but it was still def awkward. As soon as i walked in she was like "ok, drop everything from the waist down" I was taken off guard, and get silly when i am nervous so i responded "can i get to know you first," she chuckeld. Its worth the pain in the long run-- and go to someone you get recommendations for, this girl was super clean and QUICK. if you live in NYC- Shobha- madison and 57th (ask for Manju). I'm going back in a month (just before i leave for my wedding).

Waxing does hurt but the pain subsides as you become accustomed to it. I did the brazilian and haven't done a regular bikini wax since then. It's worth every penny. I find it's better for personal hygiene and saves you time from the usual femalescaping!! LOL Just do it, it's not terrible.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
