Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

Here is a link to pics from a wedding reception at Jellyfish in Punta Cana.

Their prices for a reception are comparable to what most resorts charge ... so it's an option. And if you are not close to the resort, they provide bus transportation for $5/pp.

While we aren't doing our reception here, we are having a special dinner here once we begin our honeymoon. It's within walking distance on the beach from our honeymoon resort.

From the reviews I have read, the food is amazing and the customer service is top notch.

I've heard Captain Cooks doesn't really hold a candle to Jellyfish ... but we will likely only do one meal off the resort, so we're going to stick with Jellyfish anyway. I can't wait!!!

Although my wedding party are all staying at the NH Real Arena (formerly edenH Real Arean) an all inclusive, I am planning my wedding dinner at the Jellyfish on March 10, 2009. I only have 12 people total...very small group. Since we are such a small group, I am having guests order from the restaurant menu vs. a fixed menu.

I would also like to have music, but I don't want to pay the price for a DJ/live band to entertain the whole restaurant at my expense. Does anyone know if they provide music on their own? My wedding is on a Tuesday...if that matters.

I'm not sure about music, but if you haven't already stumbled upon it, definitely check out Debbie's Domincan Travels Forums. There's a wedding board that contains a huge thread about weddings and receptions at Jellyfish Restaurant.
Sounds like a great spot, I definitely want to check it out while I'm there! I'll have to find out how far it is from Majestic Colonial.

Has anyone been to the Jellyfish just for dinner (not reception)?  Do you have a copy of the regular menu?  This place looks amazing, FI and I were going to go there one day during our second week as we would likely want a change from the resort food by then.  FI's mother and some others are talking about going too, so it may be a group dinner (8-10) people during the first week instead.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
