My Bridal Shower

Recommended Posts

My sister, SIL and aunt hosted a bridal shower for me at my Mom and Dad's house in MD this past weekend. It was mostly my elderly relatives who came, but ti was really nice b/c so many of them I hadn't seen in years and they are as old as 91 so it's likely this could be one of our last 'girls' get-togethers for the family. And most of my "aunts" are actually my Dad's aunts ... that's why they are so much older. :-)

In any case, not too much in the way of exciting photos, but I know you love pics, so I thought I would share. :-)

I got lots of kitchen stuff (CorningWare, mixing bowls, large measuring bowls, palm tree cheese spreaders, beautiful cherry wood salad bowl and the matching wooden forks which matches our kitchen's cherry wood perfectly), $$ for the honeymoon from our registry, bath towels, gift cards from Macy's BB&B and Home Depot, matching "just married" flip flops, fondue set ... I know I'm leaving some things out but I can't think ... and a "Sex for Dummies" book from my uncle. lol

Oh -- and my favorite gift -- a BW photo from 1939 of my Great grandparents and their kids in front of their farmhouse. I'll have to take and post a pic of it. It's awesome!

I wish they had taken some pics of the decorations and favor bags. It was all a red and silver hearts theme -- since it was so close to Valentines Day. It was really cute. And my SIL made a heart-shaped cake that was gorgeous!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
