decorating a gazebo with paper lanterns

Recommended Posts

Has anyone seen pics of a beach gazebo decorated with paper lanterns instead of flowers? I did a search but only came up with reception sites pics. I am having my BMs carry pink parasols instead of flowers and I'm thinking of buying lots of pink paper lanterns in varying shapes and sizes to hang inside the gazebo.

Seems like a cool alternative in my head but I wish I could see a picture to know if its pretty or pretty tacky!

Gracias

I haven't seen any pics, sorry. But I just wanted to say that it could be a neat idea. I've seen some pics of reception sites done with them and it looked really cool.

One thing to consider though, is that they might not look as good during the day when they are not lit.

I'd love to see a pic too, I'll keep a lookout for one.

I was trying to think of alternatives to flowers for the gazebo as well ... but I think Karma might be right about them not looking as good during the day as they would if they were lit up at night. I just can't picture it for some reason. But, it's all in the design, so it would totally depend on how you set it up. I'm just not creative like that.

Is there any type of generic gazebo anywhere in your town where you could do a mock-up to get an idea of how it might look?

So I was at Michaels today on my lunch break- i spend way too many lunch breaks in that place- and I found these tissue paper flowers by Martha Stewart. I bought 2 packs of them in varying shades of pink and I'm just gonna wing it with them when i get to Jamaica! I think if I attach a pink ribbon to each one in varying lengths it will look cool.

Any thoughtshuh.gif

That's very cool.

It seems with either option (flowers or lanterns) you would need a lot to make it look good. I just can't justify traveling with that much extra stuff.

    • Hi all! I am trying to plan my wedding, and would love some pictures so I can get some ideas as to how things will look. We have chosen The Cove at the Atlantis for our ceremony and outdoor reception. Anyone else have a wedding there, who can share?
    • Of course my vote goes to dress #1. But I want to point out that the bride's dress is not the most important attribute at a wedding. Of course it is very important, but as an "experienced guest" who has been to many weddings, I want to assure you that more guests' attention is tied to the interior. Most of all I remember the wedding of my best friend, they took decor for home https://flowersdecor.ca/, and decorated the entire room with it, because of this was very comfortable to be there. I loved the atmosphere and will remember that day for a long time.
