Hello,

Im Shannon from NY, I am new to the forum. I am planning a wedding for July 2008. I am looking in the cancun area...I need an affordable resort for my guests, yet one that will be absolutelty perfect for me...any suggestions. I have been researching, came up with the Occidental Xcaret....I want a beach wedding and beach reception of about 75 people....What about the Grand Palladium in the Riviera? These are the areas I am looking at. I love the moon palace, but its a bit to pricey for my guets....man this is difficult, any advice would be great!

Hi Shannon welcome to the forum. Cancun is a great area and they have a lot of affordable resorts. Off the top of my head I know the Oxcidentals are great and nice places to have a wedding. I am planning to have mine in Cabo so I don't know much info about Cancun but there are tons of Cancun brides here who will be able to help you. What part of NY are you from? (I'm from NY too)

Welcome... prcing is so important for both you and your guests. The good thing is you've picked a destination that is relatively easy to get to and rather affordable to fly to. Remember no matter what resort you select, how early you send out STD some people will complain and not be able to afford the cost.

Good luck

smile29.gif I'm pretty new the forum as well. I'm alos tring to go the the Cancun area. I was told to look at the Occidental Xcaret, Grand Palladium and Moon Palace. I was thinking about Moon Palace since my Dad said it was great. I still don't have an idea on what they cost. What were the prices you were quoted (if you don't mind me asking). I'm working with a lady on destinationweddings.com and she still hasn't told me any prices! I'm starting to get a little worried. I'm thinking about getting married Oct-Nov 2007. Not to be a shameless promotion whore but Tammy (the host) is great to work with. If you girls aren't happy with your travel agent you should def speak to Tammy b/c she has lots of knowledge, gets back to you quickly, and being recently married in a destination wedding herself, knows exactly what you are looking for. Just a thought.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
