So you all know

I have been doubting EDR for a while

and mow FMIL is saying "we are beach people, and the beach sucks" ... ugh! Why not speak up before!

Ok - thats my rant! hahahahaha

So I talked to my travel agent, and asked:

Are tehre any other adult only places in our price range.

I cant ask the guests to pay more - 40 have already booked (put down deposit)

He (TA) said, if we change resorts they dont lose any money, but he said:

THERE ARE NO OTHER ADULT ONLY ALL INCLUSIVES FOR OUR PRICE!

I just cant believe that.

Our guests paid $2055 from Calgary

for next Nov 22-29.

AND there is nothing in that rangehuh.gif?? hmmmmmm

is that right?

I've heard mixed info about the EDR beach. I just read something the other day about how the beach is awesome because of what makes other people think it's bad. Something about being able to snorkel around the whales. I'll see if I can find the website again. I also want to go to a rocky beach. I've been on so many sandy beaches. Someone just posted pictures after returning from EDR that were amazing. I think you can show your FMIL stuff that will change her mind.

we had our honeymoon at EDR and the beach didn't really bother us. The sandbags aren't the most beautiful things, but they don't get in your way if you want to swim or lay in the sun, etc... and it is nice that they are there because its like a barrier so you can snorkel in those areas.

I love the beach and I didn't see it as a big deal at all, maybe if you were getting married ON the beach, then I might go elsewhere, but otherwise tell FMIL to suck it up, it's your wedding!

the only other adults only I looked into was Royal Hideway and the price was up there, but EDR was expensive too, you might want to check that one out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
