Any Toronto area brides? Need TA recommendation please

Recommended Posts

Hello! I've noticed in a couple of profiles that there are other women on this forum planning their DW's from Toronto just like me! I'm in the early stages of planning my DW at Las Caletas in Puerto Vallarta next year (January 09) but I have guests coming down from Toronto AND all over the States so I will definitely need a good travel agent. I also set on going the all-inclusive route too because I know my guests will all be a lot happier that way.

Does any have a travel agent or travel company they're working with (or have worked with in the past) that they love and that's either based out of the Toronto area?

Thanks!

I didn't realize that our host was a TA! There is so much information on this forum and only so many non-work hours in the day! :-)

I hadn't really considered using someone who wasn't local only because I'm typically a very hands on person...this whole DW planning thing is actually very scary for me, not being able to see the site, do hair trials before, etc. But I'm willing to roll with it all so that I can have the wedding my FI and I really want rather than a "technically" perfect day....and it may work out to be both!

I will send Tammy an email/private message tomorrow and ask her how this could work. Thank you for the information.

Julia

Please do your research for a TA in great length. I used Pauline Blacoe and I have just signed on for a wedding from hell with her. Dear god spare yourself the headache and find someone competent!

Wow, what happened with her to make it so terrible and hellish? I know a lot of people that used her, myself included and we all really liked her. I am very curious to know what happened to you and sorry to hear that.

The best quote I've gotten so far is from the group specialists at the Flight Centre. I haven't signed on with anyone yet though...I'm waiting to get my quote back from Pauline Blacoe before deciding. After reading this though, I'm not sure if I should work with her...?

My ta is Canadian, but in Edmonton. I would not recommend them - I have been unable to contact them since monday. Please be careful who you pick!

I didn't use a TA at all just booked through selloffvacations and my hubby is from calgary and all his guestd booked through beachdestinations...i thoughtthey offered the best prices instead of going through a TA which prices were approx $200-$500 more per person so we went the online route

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
