Getting Married In Cancun

Hello,

My fiance and I have just agreed that we will be having a destination wedding somewhere near Cancun. That's about all I know so far!!

I am just beginning the process, have spent hours and hours looking at forums and websites of hotels, and am looking for something near Cancun (but NOT in the middle of the hotel zone), that is gorgeous of course! :)

So, possibly Cozumel, or Cancun itself, or the other beaches around there. Likely 60 guests or so, this time next year, so New Years, in a year...

Any advice would be great, or otherwise, I'll just be going through these threads to find previous advice.:)

Excited to be here!

Congrats on the wedding planning! Cancun and Cozumel are gorgeous. Were you looking to do an all-inclusive? Is price a factor? Some of the hotels are expensive around New Years time and charge more money during American holiday weekends. Defenitly do your research and see what prices quotes you can get for December/January. Also I know hurrican season hits big in Cancun and Cozumel (although I'm not sure as to the exact months) so make sure you find that out as well. Good luck with the planning!

Wow! Such quick and lovely responses, I obviously came to the right place!

Price is a factor, not for us, but because we want our guests to be able to come without worrying too much. I think All Inclusive is the best idea. There will be a few kids but not many, actually possibly none. There is only one family I know that would want to come with kids. I'm thinking about 60 people.

I know there is already so much information on this forum, so I will spend time going through and looking at old threads. I know that Christmas time is not the best weather wise, but we need a place that is easy to get to from California, England and Michigan, and so Cancun seems the best, and my fiance is a teacher, so we need it to be in vacation time.

Thanks so much for the welcomes, I will get on with the research now. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
