Welcome!!!! our date is December 1st. 2010 and we were told by our WC, Carolina, that the sunset is at 5:30PM. during that time.

When Sharron checked with the schedule of the fire dancers, they said "no way" to Bordeaux because of the wooden pergola structure. It's definitely got to be my favorite view, but we had to do Himitsu due to the fire hazard. I have family photos if you'd like me to send you some. It's the perfect place for lanterns and you can put tons of them up if you'd like!

hey Chris! I have a question for you You had the caribbean trio... what did you think of them? Is it worth the extra money? They are one of the things that my FI and I banter back and forth about... lol

I loved the Caribbean Trio, but there are some definite pros and cons to having them. This was the set up:

 

They played while our guests were waiting at the gazebo (about 20 minutes)

Then they walked back to the lobby where I was waiting and played (the guests probably couldn't hear them at this point) while the wedding party walked in. Watching the video, you can't hear them, but that may have just been the video camera. We're probably going to edit it to have different music while they walk down, or cut and loop the music that you can hear and have it play in the backround.

Then, when it was my turn to start walking with my dad, they were about 4-5 steps behind me and followed me the whole way while playing. I was having a hard time not crying...it was really nice!!!!

They were quite during the 10 minute ceremony (we didn't do any sand or anything, just a straight up standard script) and then played again while we walked off and did some quick pictures.

I knew I wasn't going to get the full HOUR that I paid for, but since we weren't doing a private reception, I didn't care. I wanted them for their destination wedding feel and I certainly got that!!

The surprise came during our dinner when they showed up and played a few more songs for us (and the other people in the restaurant)!! I was super happy about that!! Totally unexpected...

 

So all in all, they played for about 45 minutes...I think everyone enjoyed them, but I KNOW that my husband and I certainly did! I think it was worth it, not only because it was our only source of musical entertainment besides the music from the fire dancers, but because it was definitely a perfect fit for the location and the feel!!

well that is good to know!! We are doing a sand ceremony, and having the champagne toast on the beach afterward... for us, the idea is to have them there for that as well as just before the ceremony since we are using La Barcaza for our reception!

Yay! I am doing the Caribbean Trio for our cocktail hour and havent heard anything about them. I am glad you enjoyed them!

i see you got wed at the dreams punta cana and i am thinking bout this resort for my location. i was just wiondering if u had a reception and if you did where did u have it? i am planning to get wed in july 2011 and i know its really hot to get wed out door in this time so i was wondering if they had a nice indoor reception? and was the your own photographer the pictures are really nice=)
