Hey everyone!

We just got back from our Honeymoon.. and are extremely tired.. but wanted to check in to add a quick comment.. we will write a complete review in the next day or two, once we get settled in...

Our wedding was great.. the weather was perfect and everyone had a blast.. however, there were many things that went wrong during our stay.. we had a total of 20 guests and about 10 rooms (i will include more specifics in our review)... Most of our rooms had issues with the A/C not working.. we had the Preferred Club Junior Suite and our first room was hot, had a bad smell, had mildew and stains on the couches... it was completely unacceptable.. we told the concierge and we got moved to another room that was better, but still not great..

Some of our guests were moved multiple times.. others, moved once.. we spent so much time dealing with these issues.. and that isn't something we wanted to worry about.. I mean, it is true, you don't spend much time in your room, but we pay top dollar for a room.. shouldn't we get what we paid for?? The A/C wasn't the only issue.. some rooms, the remote control didn't work, the TV didn't work, the back door wouldn't lock, toilet wouldn't turn off.. outlets not working (for fridge and coffee maker).. bathroom outlets not working.. etc... I guess it comes down to, you need to be lucky to get a nice room.. if not, expect a few hours of dealing with the front desk and having to pack/move your stuff to a new room.. other things went wrong as well...

We will write more later.. let us know if you have any questions.. our reception was at the Bordeaux Terrace.. the view was the best of any of the terraces.. (in our opinion)..

Please don't take our comments the wrong way... we learned sooo much from this forum and want to offer or help in return.. so, use your own judgement.. but for us, we decided that we will never return to Dreams Punta Cana..

Welcome back and congrats on becoming a MRS!

I'm happy to hear that your wedding was great but I'm really sad that you had a bad experience with everything else.

I'm now very interested to read your full review when you get around to it but for now, just relax and have a cocktail. Lol.

TTYL. Please also let me know if you're selling any leftovers from the wedding as I am in online buying mode right now. Thanks.

Congrats on the wedding and looking forward to your full review! That's my biggest fear that my guests will be unhappy and inconvenienced with the hotel. Hopefully these problems have been taken care of.

Does anybody know what colors they offer for the chair sashes and tablecloths?

I’m trying to figure out if I want to use theirs or buy some to bring with me.

Thanks :)

Hey Sherri,

I'm not sure what colors they have but I know they charge $3 per chair sash and you can buy some at weddinglinensdirect.com for less than $1 right now. Something to think about.

Hi Toya!!

This July 3rd will be my 30th birthday!!! YAY!!! We also decided to throw a little party that day/weekend, so it will turn into a small AHR as well I'm sure...You'll still be running off the high from the wedding, so I don't think you'll have any problems. Plus you can just leave stuff out instead of putting it away and then having to remember it all again :-)

I just ordered my favors and I'm so excited about them!!!!!

I have to go to my first/last/only dress fitting this week, and my work threw me a surprise Bridal shower complete with my weakness...triple chocolate mousse cake...EVIL!!!

Time to hit the treadmill a little longer over the next couple days!

Our theme will be something like fireworks on the beach lol........... it will be very relaxed no formal things other than some speeches, thanks you's and a toast. We are holding it on a golf course, thats has a pool, tennis court, a pavillion, and a community ballroom. I will be using all the facilities. I can't wait its gonna be sooo fun.....

    • I'm so sorry to hear this  Did you have a signed contract with him? What did he or the contract say the turn around time be? If it is way past the deadline, you have made several documented attempts to contact him, and he has broken your contract and failed to produce what has been promised, you could resort to writing an online review of your experience -- often times, that motivates vendors who've dropped the ball to rectify the situation because it affects other potential clients.
    • STAY AWAY FROM CARIBBEAN EMOTIONS PHOTOGRAPHY!!!! Michael Weiler is a SCAMMER he took our money and disappeared!! we hired him as our photographer for our wedding back in November, he gave us a run around for the first week or 2 saying our pictures are almost ready and then disappeared. we have been sending him emails, texts and phone calls for the past 4 months and he is now where to be found. I made a fake account to email him and he answered right away as he is only interested in taking peoples money and not give anything in return.
    • For weddings you should definitely use a travel agent as there are promotions and amenities with a group block that you will not get by booking individually like comped rooms, upgrades, spa treatments, etc.
    • Congratulations and welcome to the forum! There are lots of great resort options in Punta Cana and we have stayed at or toured many of them.  Are you looking for a family friendly resort or adults only?  What you interested in with nature and the ceremony? All of the resorts will have different wedding locations and there are also a variety of off resort wedding venues in Punta Cana. Please feel free to email us at info@wrighttravelagency.com if you'd like us to send resort info and check group rates. Thanks! Patty
    • Hello Everyone!  I am currently in the initial stages of planning and I am starting to look at resorts in Dominican Republic. I am thinking of having my wedding in October 2020.  I have been looking at resorts in Punta Cana, but I also want to look at other options/areas as well. The groom and I enjoy nature and we would like to incorporate that into our wedding in some way. We may also have a guest list between 50-80 people. Since we live in the US, I wanted to find a location that is accessible from major airports and is cost efficient for our guest as well as us. Can anyone share what locations they have searched or been to other than Punta Cana? Also I am okay to receive feedback on some Punta Cana locations.
