Dreams Punta Cana Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi girls! I booked my photographer last month after doing some research on pricing and quality of work. We decided not to have the resort photographer as the price seemed a bit high for us. We choose package 2 and added the coverage of pics for the dinner/reception for an additional $300. We also received a comp. TTD session, due to a promotion he was running at the time! The TTD the dress session is usually $250

We booked Michael and his website is Wedding Punta Cana by Photographer Michael Weiler | Wedding Foto Packages |.

He is also on Facebook and has many pictures (Michael Weiler | Facebook)

I've also attached here his package information (please note this might change), if you can't download the attachment PM me your email and I will send it to you...

As he is in Punta Cana already we only have to pay for his day pass and nothing else (no room or transportation)

Have a great day girls!!!!flypig.gifflypig.gifflypig.gifflypig.gif

Maybe we should make a master list of all email responses that we have all received (since we might have asked different questions or the same)? If you girls want to, copy and paste your questions/answers into ONE email, and then send it over my way and I will make a master list. This will be beneficial in case while we are there they tell us the wedding canopy with no flowers is $175 when in the email they told us $150.

My email is jak.05@hotmail.com. I will forward the master list to anyone that emails me.

Ash- FANTASTIC idea :) We need a master list, since noone really wants to get screwed over! And what is it with Dreams upping prices randomly every few months? ugh... seriously.

Erin - I'm glad to hear they will honor the price! I am pretty sure i have an email with that in it... I will have to check when I get home! :) thanks for the heads up! The arch looks pretty in Jocy's pictures, so whether we use it or not depends on how it looks when we arrive! lol

I just sent my questions and answers, thank you for doing this. With just a month out, I'm getting very frustrated with the way they are doing things. We confirmed prices with our WC (Sharron) about 2 months ago, prices for the dinner and speaker rental, etc, and since the prices went up, we just wanted to confirm with her that she would honour the 2009 prices that we agreed to when we booked with them, and she said we'd be charged the 2010 prices. I picked DPC because I thought it was cheaper than many other resorts, and now with the increase in prices on essentially EVERYTHING, it's not! If I had known this, I may have looked into other resorts! Also, if we were having an at home wedding, you sign a contract and are guaranteed those prices. It's ridiculous that you book a year out and prices are allowed to change at their discretion, and there's nothing you can do to contest it!

Regarding the photographer question, we found a wonderful photographer who has never done a destination wedding, and kindly agreed to come photograph ours for ONLY the cost of her trip. So for a single room, we are paying about $1700, and that's it. She is going to capture everything, rehearsal, welcome cocktail hour, getting ready, ceremony, reception, TTD, excursion, etc. We really lucked out, especially looking at the prices DPC charges for so little photography!

I have just finally been charged the $500 dollar deposit from my debit card, which ofcoarse went negative, thinking that they would never charge it. I'm pretty pissed off, because I have been sending her MULTIPLE emails asking when this would be charged with other questions and confirmations as well which she has answered NONE. I knew sometime this would be charged (especially after toya's warning) but without even bothering me to email me back is just ridiculous. I'm probly the least finicky bride out there but this really bothered me. Just a heads up for you other ladies waiting for a deposit to be taken out...be prepared!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
