I think this is the resort where my FH and I will get married! This was our first choice, but then saw some other places we like.Turns out their wedding packages suck! So I think we are back on at Dreams! It's a hard decision to make, but I can't wait! I agree with the facr that there is always going to be people that you can't please. Obviously for me the most important part is that I will be marrying the man I love and that my family will be there to celebrate with us.

Nbulldog - You would probably have to contact someone directly at the resort to get an idea of different possibilities for a wedding location on their grounds. I'm sure they would be willing to work with you. I know the gazebo area can hold a decent number of people and the beach may not be completely private but I'm sure guests staying there will respect your wedding and not try to interfere. I chose Dreams because it had everything I was looking for - beautiful grounds, clear wedding packages/pricing information, affordability for our guests, size (large resort with plenty for our guests to do). Overall I felt it was a good resort to have a wedding.

we had our wedding there and never even noticed the people walking on the beach. the other guests were pretty respectful and stayed in the distance. I didn't care at that point. I am not sure as to where else they will allow you to hold the ceremony, I know they have plenty of different patios as to were to hold your reception, the main patio outside of Himitsu is large and somewhat private but people will be going in and out of the restaurant there. the reception rooms are nice and large and would be private.

As you can imagine i had my heart set on Dreams Cancun adn everything is pretty much set for it (my wedding is in 6 weeks) so I dont have luxury of time to get focused and I hope you ladies can give me all the advice you have :)

Hi Everyone!

Joanna I know exactly what you're going through as we had all our flights cancelled by the airlines 4 days before we were supposed to leave! Tomorrow was supposed to be our wedding day at the Dreams Puerto Aventuras in Mexico...instead we'll be getting a couples massage to make all the stress of the last week go away...hopefully!

To everyone else here, I'm having a really tough time getting any responces from the coordinators regarding a deposit for the wedding package. I just want to make sure they don't give our new date away...not sure I could handle another set-back! Lol!

Congratulations and best wishes for your wedding this Saturday, JAXLL! I hope all goes as planned, and that you have beautiful weather! Did you have a positive experience during the planning process with the wedding planner? I'm considering Dreams PC for my wedding next April, so any reviews or tips you can provide me with would be greatly appreciated!

To the brides who were supposed to get married in Mexico, I feel for you big time! :0S It must be so frustrating to have all the planning get nixed at the last minute! But hopefully planning and changes go smoothly, and you have wonderful weddings in Dominican. You both seem to be pretty upbeat about the whole thing, so I hope everything goes well for you both!

Tara

As of a couple of months ago Dreams deposits were $100 for Wedding in Paradise and $500 for the other packages. Once they officially confirm your date (should be soon if it's symbolic, may take some time for legal) you will get an email with a confirmation number. You will also fill out a credit card authorization form so they have your information on file and then.

I have found that if you haven't gotten a response in a few days, re-send your original email with a note saying that you just wanted to make sure that they got what you originally sent. They have email issues at times and are also transitioning in a new WC so that could be the cause of some of the delays.

When in doubt, head over the Dreams PC forum on the dreams website (dreamsresorts.com) and get in touch with the woman named "baltobabe". She is amazing and should be able to figure out any issues and get you in touch with the resort quickly.

So glad it's not just me. The wedding planner for Dreams Punta Cana could NOT BE that busy. I am planning a site visit early June in Punta Cana. I have made appointments with 8 other resorts. As of today I have not heard from anyone from dreams- So I will take them off my list- it's their lost!!! Ironically when I was planning my wedding to Mexico- I had a hard time scheduling a site visit with Dreams in Rivera Maya as well huh.gifhuh.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
