Hi Ska2m

Thanks for checking with your friend on the vases, I really appreciated.

Keep us posted on the new chairs situation, I'm curious to see what the costs would be to use the ones in the new photos.

Thanks,

J

As well as for the lanterns. I'm so excited as i really didn't want to use the chair covers or bows, especially the rate they were charging for each bow! How exciting, if i hear back soon, i'll post her comments/costs if any! http://www.dreamsresorts.com/drepc/plan-your-wedding.html

They recently changed their policy. Before you did have to pay a day pass, but I THINK they eliminated that and outside photographers are allowed on premise for free.

The photographer will be there while I'm getting ready, the ceremony, and after the ceremony. We are also planning on having a TTD session which will take place the day after. They photographer will not be there for the reception. You may be able to have them stay for an extra fee, but I will not be doing that. Hope that helps!

Hello Ladies, So i found out about the chairs and unfortunately they are charging what i think is a very steep price. Those chairs in their website photos are $20 a chair to rent... =( Well, i wil be just using the chairs already provided. As for the photographer, I am also using Michael Weiler, i am not choosing the resort photog as i think their prices are ridiculous plus you have to pay more if you want reception photos. Michael Weiler will be taking video and pictures for my ceremony all the way to the end of my reception. His prices and pictures were all a great package. I also read their "new" policy about not charging for the photographers day/night pass. So i think that is now the new rule, which is great!

$20 per chair is ridiculous!
I will be using their white chair covers, will be buying my chair sashes from here for less than $1/piece (hopefully!), and using buckles to tie them (instead of bows).

Hi ladies,  I also got the same info about $20 per chair to rent the Chaivari chairs which is absurd.  So right now I'm emailing with a local company that supposedly can provide them for $4 per chair.  So I'm getting a final quote and coordinating w/ Dreams to see if they're going to give me a problem about having another company handle the chairs.  I've also inquired about whether Dreams can provide me with the lanterns that are in the photos for a rental price, and whether they can rent tall glass vases.  I'll report back after I have solid answers.

Hiya Ladies,

My June 15th wedding date is fast approaching.  Trying to not think about it too much but everyone seems to be doing a countdown on our behalf.  Needless to say, I'm starting to get the jitters, and just because it's a destination wedding, it doesn't mean you're not moved by the same worries of things going as planned.  I'm excited, anxious, worried,.... You get the drift.  Please help me reduce some stress by answering these questions for me:

When and how does the WC set an appointment to meet you once you've arrived at the resort?

What is the best and convenient way to pay for the wedding (cash, credit) - we want to avoid bringing too much cash with the risk of losing it and whatnot-?

Who should get tipped after the wedding -I noticed gratuities are added to the package prices-?

How much should the WC get for tip?

Do they provide the wires to hook the ipod to their sound system - if not, will I have to bring my own?

Phew!

I think that's it.

Hey Ska2M, Would you mind sending me the link to the wholesaler in China where you got your luggage tags? I was also thinking of getting luggage tags and am looking for good deal. Thanks for any help! :)

Go to alibaba.com and I ordered the fabric luggage tags and Jessiee was so helpful. The only thing is that many of the have minimum orders of 100 orders. The price though is great especially for customization! here is what it would look like on fabric, the logo on mine is the same as my picture on this page. and it's brown with aqua trim. http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/302129554/Luggage_Tag.html

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
